What are your Eyes Focused on

Why are we so far from what is so close to us? You may see splendors among the things created by our Wonderful Father and God every day, yet, our daily routine makes us focus on the mud of this world. However, God has ways to interrupt and cut that monotony…and if we just can’t find time, He gives us time. See more in the article below!
Where is the mud in my life?

"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassion never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:21-23

Every day, when we are waking up in a new beautiful day, we may have the grace of a wonderful encounter with the Creator, we may see His love, kindness and mercy; but ... ah, I do not have time for this. The "urgent" things, those that I think are in my hand to deal, like making money and providing food, clothing and all what a family needs for living on this earth, are the priority in my eyes. I’m too busy to open my spiritual eyes to see that all we have comes from our Creator, and too many times we forget His will and promise:

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33

Oh what a loss to focus on the passing temporary things! Yes this is a sort of mud in my life - making decisions without His guidance, looking for solutions on my own and again, another day passed without even saying: "Good morning Lord, what a wonderful day you gave me, everything came from your blessed hand" …oh what tremendous loss to have missed that.

After seeking world’s glory I wonder - Is God receiving all the Glory from my life? Why are my eyes focused on mud so much? How Big and Glorious is God in my life? Why is it so easy to leave behind what should be the most important part in my life?

But here comes the solution, God’s faithfulness applies discipline as a father disciplines the child he loves. Suddenly my routine was interrupted. As if God had said: "Stop! I want you to see Who I Am", so all the "emergencies" in my life ceased.

"He gave you manna to eat in the desert, something your fathers had never known, to humble and to test you so that in end might go well with you. You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me." But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today." Deuteronomy 8:16 -18

When I felt this, I knew my Father’s loving hand, although it was not easy to be humbled." The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor" Proverbs 15:33

The fear of the Lord is essential and also a lesson that I had to learn in my moment of "interruption". Thank you dear Lord for those moments.

Even if we are so far from His will, He understands and forgives us in His mercy."He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever. He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for He knows how we are formed. He remembers that we are dust." Psalms 103:10-14

So, asking again - why are we so far from what is so closed to us? That’s because we are in a battle and we have an enemy but - praise Him - we are in God’s hand since we asked forgiveness for our sin, God is faithful to forgive us.

When Jews were slave in Egypt, the Egyptians were mocking them by calling them "hapiru", that means - "dusty ones", but we have a God whose intentions are to forgive our sins and remembers that we actually are dust. We have a God who walks with us, lives with us in the immense and dreadful wilderness. We have a God of Grace who loves us so much especially those "dusty ones".

Oh Dear Lord, into your great hands we place our own. How much power is there in His words! If we would only listen and believe what He tells us! We were made by Him for his Own Glory.
