What are the Best Investments these Days - Gold? Men’s Rings? Houses? Stocks?

There are many great investments today. But which are the greatest ones?
Depending upon your time to read this article – you might just want the short answer so here it is:

Houses
Stocks
Gold
Men’s Rings

Ok, you can stop reading or go into more depth – your call! Homes in today’s markets (with a geographical caveat) are at all time lows. If you have a few extra hundreds of thousands of dollars there is no better investment than paying cash for an appreciable asset like a home and renting it out - particularly when you can buy many homes for 50 cents on the dollar. A time like this comes not very often in the housing market and for those who have cash now is a great time to make that investment. Not only will you have an income producing asset you have an appreciating asset based upon appreciation in home values that historically have always gone up – there is just so much land for sale!!!

Stocks. Wow. This is a touchy subject but anyone who has ever invested in stocks understands that short of an all out depression, stocks always, always rebound in the long haul. Some people are a little skittish right now and understandably so … but do not despair – go with the long haul thinking and make your stock investments wisely. You’ll be glad you did.

Gold. What is it selling for today – over $900 right? Not too long ago it was at $200 – not a bad return is it? I wouldn’t advise putting too much money in gold but it is typically a good investment again over time. You can even store this at home in a safe or in your mattress. I think everyone in America should have a little gold stored away for tough times and I recommend small, tradable coins not gold blocks. You’d be surprised how many people will trade commodities you need just to survive for gold. That’s another reason why I like gold as an investment … you will usually make a return on your money plus you have a tradable asset in case of economic emergencies and the longer I live the more I feel that is a real possibility in the next 10-20 years.

Lastly – men’s rings. Ladie’s rings – it doesn’t really matter. I just picked mens’ rings because I happen to be a man. I think this commodity is less of an investment in return and more of an investment in enjoyment and joy. Don’t throw bananas – just hear me out! These days you have tungsten rings, ceramic rings, gold rings, stainless steel rings, etc. Not all of these were crafted as pieces for investments – they were crafted for eye-catching enjoyment and style. Even a men’s gold ring made a hundred years ago is typically only worth the gold it was minted with. Today’s tungsten rings, although a beautiful and rugged fashion – probably one of the hottest in the world – is crafted for only one purpose. Beauty. Fashion. Style. Durability. NOT for investment qualities.

So there you have it – go out and find yourself a great home at a substantial discount and rent it out. If you have a few coins left over go out and buy stocks that are in the tech or green fields – the US plans to be a leader in these environments and so a long and profitable growth period could result. In any event, enjoy what you do and maybe even reward yourself with a few gold coins and a men's ring too!
