Welcome to England 1
This is a new story from the author of "The Secret Spot"
"Arrieta get your lazy bum out of bed!" I heard my mother shout up the stairs.
"Ya ya mom!" I shout right back.
"No I mean now Arrieta!" I pull myself out of bed with a groan and walk towards my bathroom. I splash cold water on my face and pat my face dry. I look in the mirror and quickly brush my light brown hair straight. My grayish blue eyes sparkle and I put mascara on my long eyelashes. I pull of my pajamas and go to my closet.
I grab my uniform from a hanger and slip it on. I roll the top of the blue plaid skirt up making it into a mini. "DON'T GET DRESSED IN YOUR UNIFORM HUN! YOUR FATHER AND I NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IMPORTANT!" I groan and realize all that work with my makeup and hair was for nothing, its SATURDAY!
I yank of the disgraceful uniform and pull on a pair of black jean shorts and a teal tanktop. I prance downstairs and stop gracefully in front of my mother and father. "Hello daddy!" I say happily since I realized it was Saturday. I peck him on the cheek and he grins at me.
I do the same to my mother and she smiles her gently enhanced perfect smile "Well I'm glad you're in a good mood today sweetheart!" She smiled at me. I grab an apple, wash it, and take a bit. The juice trickles down my chin and my parent laugh at me like I'm 5 not 15. I looked in the mirror on the wall opposite to me and smile back realizing I did look quite cute with a mouth full of apple.
"So what's up ma and pops?" I ask and take another sweet bite from the apple.
"Well.. your father has been promoted an-"
"THAT'S GREAT!" I cut in thinking that was all she had to say. I turn around to go call Matty my best friend.
"No wait sweetheart, that's not all..." she says and gives my father a nervous glance.
"W-what is it?" I ask now very interested in the conversation.
"We're moving to England." She says after a long pause. I stop mid-chew.
"WHAT!?" I shriek.
"NOW HONEY! I also have some good news! Matty's father got the same promotion so she is moving to!" I put a hand over my heart relieved. I couldn't live without my Matty. She is like a sister to me. "But her father needs to finish A LOT of stuff up here so.." She said with a smile forming on her beautiful face." SHES RIDING TO ENGLAND WITH US AND LIVING WITH US FOR 5 MONTHS!!" she says happily.
'OH MY GOSH ARE YOU KIDDING ME!" I scream and a smile spreads on my face. "AAAAAAAAA" I shout and give both my parents the biggest hugs. "THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!" I shout.
The phone rings and my father picks it up "hel-"
"AAAAAA LEME TALK TO ARI!" I hear Matty shout.
"Guess Matty already heard" my mom says and giggle.
"HEY CHICA!" i scream
"HEY!! We are like sisters now!" Matty said enthusiastically.
"TOTALLY! when do we leave?" I ask
"tomorrow" She says nonchalantly.
"SO SOON?" I say to both my parents and Matty.
My parents nodded and Matty said "WELL DUH! THE SOONER WE'RE THERE, THE SOONER WE GOT OUR PAWS ON SOME SEXY BRITISH BOYS!" she says in a fake British accent.
I laugh "hell, i mean heck ya." I say glancing at my parents. They both gave me the evil eye, Matty talked was so excited and talking so loud they heard every bit of it.
"WELL GET YOUR CUTE BOOTY PACKING LITTLE MISS!" Matty shouts through the phone. My parents nodded in agreement with Matty's comment.
I roll my eyes. "Fine. I will see ya tomorrow! Love ya sis!" I shout sarcastically.
"I know ya do!" Matty joked and a put the phone on the hook.
I run upstairs and pack my room in under 4 hours. Not bad for 15 years of living there. The rest of the day we packed up our stuff. I slept on the couch because i was so excited. I didn't bother setting my alarm clock. Matty would make sure to be here 2 hours early and wake me up. I say to myself and smile. Slowly my eyes drift close with thoughts of my new life in England.

I felt something on my chest. Something preventing me from breathing. My eyelids shoot open looking for whatever was trying to suffocate me. Staring back at me are 2 familiar dark navy blue eyes. "WAKE UP!" Matty shouts and stands up from sitting on me.
"Could you think of a more peaceful way of waking me up Mattaloo," I ask her.
"Like what, burping in your face?" she asks with a smile lighting up her pretty face.
I laugh at her, she looks so devilish when she grins. You know she is always planning something sinister. Her shoulder length sandy colored hair was straightened and let down. She was looking stylish and comfortable in a pair of purple sweat pants and a white sweatshirt from holster.
"Come on sleeping beauty put on those clothes you have out and let's go meet a new future!" she says in a fake movie trailer voice with makes me throw my head back and laugh.
"I am not joking here Arietta!" she says and pokes my sides making me laugh harder, she new i was UNBEARABLY ticklish!
"Ok ok here i come. PIGGY BACK!" i scream and jump on Matty. She gives me a piggy back ride all the way to the car. She throws me in and goes to the back of the car and grabs her makeup back. "NO" I shout knowing very well she wants to cover my face in makeup.
"Oh yes my darling, now hold still." She says and takes out her eyelash curler.

(OFF THE PLANE IN ENGLAND)
The plane ride was fun with Matty with me. England was a BIG change from the small town in Nebraska I was used to.
"Hey dad when do we start school?" I ask my dad as he gives Matty a playful nugie.
"Tomorrow hon." He says over Matty's grunts over how he was messing up her hair. I watch them and laugh. Matty and I had ease with each others parents as if they were our own.
We got in our car which had to be shipped over hereby ship. It was fully packed with our things. We drove up to a beautiful bluish house. It was Victorian style and HUGE. We ran in the house and it was filled with light and beautiful. I ran upstairs to claim a bedroom and picked a lime green one with big windows towards the front of the house.
Matty picked a pink room across the hall from mine. "YOU GUYS GO CHECK OUT THE AREA! JUST BE CAREFUL AND KEEP YOUR CELL PHONE ON" my mom shouts up the stairs.
"Come on Arietta, let's go check this little town out and let them know we are here!" Matty says striking a pose.
"Ok ok as long as you don't do that," I say and race her down the stairs
