Welcome To Earth

Life on earth without humans... 'surviving' doesn't quite cut it.
Welcome to earth, population zero
No more can we try to be the heroes

The grasses are filled with flowering lilies
The animals call out to each other quite shrilly

They’re looking for food that we no longer provide
And to think this is because the human race vied

This planet keeps spinning but it’s gloomy and gray
Now green it will turn without any delay

There’s no one here to stop it from repopulating
Animals, sadly, we made so degrading

The trees are now wild, they’ve broken through cement
They gobble up our world leaving but a fragment

Of what we used to be, of all that we stood for
Too long, the earth’s needs have been ignored
