Wedding Song Ideas

Creating the right mood and song list for your reception will go a long way towards letting you and your guests relax and enjoy the night
All married couples have their own song, and even people who have been together for a long time and are about to make that lifetime commitment. Wedding song ideas are the perfect accompaniment to the floral side of things and right through to the food and choice of location.

At the wedding while the groom is waiting for her man, sentimental tunes always ring out as the bride eventually walks down the aisle with that tear streaming down her cheek. The bride and groom will choose songs that are special to them and give a list to a wedding DJ if they decide to use one who will keep it at a safe level while at the same time filling the hearts of all the guests watching the magical moment.

The most important song of all though is the bridal waltz, it is their song: the bride and the grooms. It often holds significance, maybe they first heard it when they locked eyes for the first time, or maybe they just both really like it. But whatever the reason for the song, it is heard by all of the guests as they share the joined souls in their hip locking moment as they are taking to a special place by that very song.

At the reception afterwards the music doesn’t really have to hold to much significance, the wedding songs at this stage can simply be to add a bit of ambience, though you have to remember that a wedding has all age groups. Everyone has to be catered for, just like with the food, and while they are eating and talking a pleasurable sound should also make their awareness.

Wedding songs normally last the duration of a wedding, and if the wedding continues deep into the night and people are in the mood to dance, then some good dance tracks should also be included. DJ does normally have a great selection for this.

A few popular songs for weddings include: Phil Collins (A groovy kind of love), Kelly Clarkson (A moment like this), U2 (All I want is you), Bryan McKnight (Back at one) and Chicago (beginnings). These are only a few of course, but most DJ’s will have a wide selection and you just have to enquire.

Wedding song ideas are probably the most fun to be had, because it isn’t a serious part of wedding planning. It is something you can do over a coffee while jotting stuff down. The bride and groom really only need to do a lot of collaborating on the song they will first dance to.
