Wedding Hall Decorations

Wedding hall decorations should be decided upon keeping your theme and color scheme in mind. Here are some ideas...
Planning and finalizing all your wedding details is both exciting and stressful. Unless you are an exceptionally calm person, you won't be at peace until every loose end has been tied tight! Thinking up and deciding the wedding hall decorations can be one of the most exciting (after the dress, of course!) aspect of wedding planning. While those having outdoor receptions benefit from natural settings, you can create an equally magical ambiance indoors with a little ingenuity. Most brides (and some bridegrooms) want their weddings to be unique and original, set apart from the rest. Though a difficult task to achieve, it can be made possible with a little bit of creativity and a lot of research! The solution to unique and original wedding hall decoration design is look at unusual items to dress up the hall.

Wedding Hall Decoration Ideas

Flowers
While I expect you to say what is so unusual about flowers, they are a wedding hall decoration must have. There is nothing that can replicate the beauty that flowers add, however, try to find unusual ways to use them. If money is not a concern, ask your wedding planner to find a way to suspend individual rose blooms from the ceiling, so they hang about 8 feet off the ground. Each bloom should hang at about 1.5 feet away from the others. However, if this is too expensive to accomplish, get a few spherical oasis' and cover it with half bloomed roses or tulips. These flower globes can be used as table centers, on stands at the venue, or suspended from the ceiling.

Lights
The right kind of lighting is an essential ingredient in setting the mood. If you want the ambiance to spell romance, diffused lighting is the way to go. There are many ways to accomplish this. My personal favorite is with the use of frosted glass candle holders as table centers or at different points in the hall. Alternately, you can lamps the complement your color scheme to light the venue. For a quaint rustic feel, use hurricane lamps. Light up the corners by scattering rose petals (a lot of them) on the ground and placing shot glass candles between them.

Other Ideas for Decoration
  • Most wedding reception halls have pillars, which are ideal and easy to decorate. One can string a vine of flowers and leaves around the pillar for a gorgeous effect. Alternately, hang LED lights along the pillar and cover them with a curtain of sheer fabric.
  • Table centers are an important part of wedding hall decorations. Instead of going with the usual run of the mill flower arrangements, try something entirely different. If your wedding is in winter, make a table center with winter berry and regular and gilded pine cones.
  • Another material that is great for decoration is cane. Use cane rings embellished with dried flowers or ribbons can be hung at different locations in the hall. You can hang a heart-shaped cane wreath with fresh flowers at the back of the bride and bridegroom's chairs.
  • Utilize any one wall of the hall as a screen. Compile a selection of pictures of you and your fiancé that follow your journey, and have them projected on the wall. Let them run in a loop all through the evening.
  • Feathers are another option that can add glamor to your venue. The best way to incorporate large feathers is in large vases/pots (about 2 feet tall) that are strategically placed around the venue.
  • Wedding decoration backdrops are outdated, and if one feels strongly about having a backdrop, they should stick to drapes or LED lights covered with drapes.
While deciding on your reception décor, ensure that you keep quality, not quantity in mind. Know that you can create beautiful wedding hall decorations even on a tight budget. With enough time, you can come up with and make your own unique wedding hall decorations.
