Depending on the time and venue and their body shape, men can also opt for formal suit, stroller jacket, waistcoat, striped trousers, bow tie and the good old black tail coat and so on. For a man there is nothing like the classic tux or a stylish and well fitting dinner jacket to impress his woman. These are the ultimate wedding dress styles for Christian couples.

Jewish Weddings: Just as vintage this civilization with the three elements of Judaism - reform, conservative and orthodox, have a heavy influence on the Jewish weddings. So, these three determine the wedding dress styles in a jewish marriage, especially for women. The chatan - Jewish groom, wears a spotless white, short linen robe, called kittel along with a white cap traditionally. Now for the fairer sex. Depending on whether the synagogue is conservative or orthodox, the bride dresses for the wedding. In a conservative synagogue, the bride's shoulders should be covered. If the place is absolutely orthodox, well, the Jewish girls really can have a tough time, because it demands that their wedding gowns have full or 3/4th sleeves, high neck cut lines, ankle-length skirts. Back exposure is a complete 'NO' for Jewish brides. Ball gown style dresses exude simplicity as well as they are elegant. No skin show here, people!

African Weddings: They have, by far, the most ethnic wedding dresses. From white and gold long Dashiki, consisting of three pieces to Kente bow tie sets, African grooms are extremely traditional and rooted to their culture. The women, have much more choice when it comes to wedding dress styles. African women look just perfect and great in red and gold buba dress or a purple and gold ashoke style dress. A millionstone black and gold cape dress is another great option for an African bride. Another lovely option for an African bride is elegant white and gold dress, accompanied by a gele head wrap. These dressing styles suit the Africans exceptionally well!

Indian Weddings: Well, the Indian weddings, what do I say about them. Indians have the most colorful wedding dresses of all the wedding dress styles. Bright, peppy and lively hues are the characteristics of an Indian Wedding. Indian bridal wear is all about different patterns, beautiful and ornately designed dresses and Sarees. Talk about Indian weddings, and the most prominent are Hindu and Islamic weddings. In a traditional Hindu wedding, the women in most of the part wear exquisitely designed 'zari' sarees. And Indian women look totally enchanting in a Saree, complimented by awesome gold bridal jewelry. Blue, maroon, green, yellow, top the list of colors when it comes to Hindu weddings. These days some women also wear Shararas, which are long, finely decorated long flairy, ankle-length skirts, coupled with a matching blouse. While women look amazing in sarees, men are no less. Men can go all out and even wear a dhoti and a kurta or a kurta> salwar or a stylish sherwani. In different regions of India, they dress differently, but these are the basic Hindu wedding dress styles. The Muslims on the other hand could be called more compact, when it comes to the dressing style and definitely not the colors. As Muslim wedding is as beautiful and colorful as it gets. While the bride wears a colorfulghagra or salwar kameez, the men wear silk kurta and salwar. Sherwani being a hit with all Indian weddings, Muslim weddings are no exception. In most of the wedding dress styles, the women take away the accolades. In Indian weddings, there is basically a plethora of dressing options you can chose from. You can go on and on about them. Those who have seen Bollywood movies, surely know that!

If would have been able to, I could probably go on and on about this extremely interesting and amazing topic. That was just a glimpse of the wedding dress styles across the globe, there is a lot more to weddings than just clothes.

And just as all good things come to an end, a wedding ceremony for instance, I finish my elaboration of this lovely subject.
