We Can't

. . . as much as we want to . . .
Like an angel
She takes my hand
She kisses my lips
That sweet caress
The innocent touch
That I will never forget

You look at me
And a tear falls down
At that moment I start to see
That you are in pain from what I do

So I talk to you
"This needs to stop"
You cry again
More than I could expect!

Saying goodbye
Was difficult to do
"I'm not going anywhere"
You say to me
I know, but still

I don’t know quite what you want
Or what you need
But I know what I want . . .
To be held by you once more

To feel that sweet touch
The innocent caress
The softness of your lips
As much as we know that we can't
