Stressful lives and hectic lifestyles seem to be taking a toll on our bodies. Not to mention the pollution that is all around us. Thus, taking care of our bodies is an even bigger challenge today than it ever was before. So in such cases, what can come to your rescue are diets that actually work! Thus, one of the best ways to lose weight is by following diets known as water diets. Given below are some of the most well-known water diets that actually work.

Water Diet to Lose Weight

Cold Water Diet
The water diet normally connotes the diet where you have to drink cold water at intervals throughout the day. According to this diet, the person needs to drink 64 ounces of water everyday. This comes to nearly one half of a gallon. The water needs to be around fifty degrees Celsius. The person should drink this water over the course of the entire day and not just at one time. Furthermore, the water should not be flavored, carbonated or artificially sweetened.

The theory behind this diet is that the body uses energy to heat up the water ingested so as to bring it to the body temperature. Thus, there is a potential for slight annual weight loss which could come to about five pounds on an average. However, the fact is that the caloric intake needs to be decreased by a considerable amount so as to ensure that the weight lost by heating up the cold water is not made up for by eating calorie rich food. Certain lifestyle changes, like regular exercise can greatly help to increase the amount of weight loss.

Master Cleanse Diet
The master cleanse diet, also known as the lemon water diet, is a diet where a person is supposed stick to drinking only a special solution without eating any solids at all. This diet consists of making a solution using fresh squeezed lemon, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and cold water. At least 6 - 12 glasses of this solution should be taken in on a daily basis. A person can follow this diet for either two weeks, or a maximum of forty days. This diet plan helps to not only lose weight but the best part is that the person also ends up detoxifying his entire body, which is why this diet is also called the master cleanse diet.

Other Miscellaneous Diets
The fruit and water diet consists of eating fruits and drinking water all day long. A person can follow this diet for a week or even up to a month. Another diet that has generated a lot of curiosity is the vinegar and water diet. This diet consists of drinking vinegar or apple cider vinegar on a daily basis. It is a safe and natural way of losing weight.

However, one of the most dubious diets is the bread and water diet, where the person eats only white bread and drinks water. It is not sure how this diet works and though some people claim that this diet does help to lose weight, however, in this diet, after burning some amount of fat, the body starts scavenging the muscle cells. Due to the lack of nutrition available, the body switches to starvation mode. Thus, even if there is weight loss, the person will lose muscle mass and become unhealthy.

The importance of drinking water cannot be stressed on enough. Thus, something that can always come in handy are water diets, as these help to not only lose weight fast but also detoxify the body completely by getting rid of all the harmful toxins. However, before trying out any kind of diet plans, it is best to consult a nutritionist so as to chalk out a diet plan that would work best for you.
