Watch What You Eat Has a New Meaning

For decades people have been told to "watch what you eat" in order to stay healthy. It may sound trite, but watching what you eat - and what it looks like - might help you in managing specific health problems.
God made the plants and animals before He made people, so everything we needed to sustain us was in existence before we were even created. Scientists have researched and proven that certain foods are beneficial in helping with specific health problems. Coincidentally, there are many foods that actually resemble the body systems they are most beneficial for helping with. Coincidence? Or intelligent design? No matter what your belief system is, there is no denying that some foods are good indicators of the health benefits they impart, just by what they look like.

Kidney beans are called that because they resemble human kidneys. Surprisingly, they also can actually help maintain kidney function and heal minor kidney ailments. They contain no cholesterol and are a good source of potassium, iron, and calcium. If you slice a , you'll see that it has four internal chambers. Although there are genetically designed yellow, purple, and striped varieties, most tomatoes are red. The human heart has four chambers, and the heart and blood of humans is red. Research has demonstrated that tomatoes are packed with lycopine, which has been proven to significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attacks, and strokes. A carrot slice looks just like the human eyeball, with a pupil in the center surrounded by an iris. And carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted to vitamin A by the body. Vitamin A is a crucial nutrient for the body in maintaining good vision and eye health.

Reproductive organ health issues can be prevented or managed by several foods that resemble female and male anatomy. Avocados, pears, and eggplants all contain nutrients that target the function and health of the cervix and uterus. Each one of these foods contains more than 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents, and researchers have studied only about 140 of them. But research has shown that eating these vegetables can help balance hormones, help with weight loss, and prevent cervical cancer. Figs hang in pairs as they are growing, and they are packed with tiny seeds, just like male testicles. Figs are rich in zinc and other essential minerals necessary to increase sperm count and motility.

Walnuts look like tiny little human brains. Inside the shell, a walnut has a left and right hemisphere, with lower cerebrums and upper cerebrums. The outside the nut has folds and wrinkles that resemble the neo-cortex of the human brain. This delicious nut contains a powerful source of omega-3 essential fatty acids, which the body cannot create on its own. The health benefits of omega-3s are profound, including cardiovascular protection, anti-inflammatory benefits, and most importantly, supporting healthy cognitive brain function. The antioxidants present in walnuts can help the body develop dozens of new neurotransmitters to strengthen brain activity.

Other beneficial foods that resemble the body systems they help with include citrus fruits (contribute to the health of mammary glands); celery, bok choy, and rhubarb (target bone strength and skeletal needs); and onions (help clear waste products from all the cells in the body). Whether it is just a coincidence or part of a divine plan, when you have a health problem you need to address, you might want to start watching what you eat in order to keep an eye on staying healthy.
