Wasn't Meant to Be

I wrote this song for a boy, about a boy, after he broke my heart. He never meant to hurt me, but it happened anyway. And I still love him with all my heart...
Verse 1:
I realized I loved you last week,
When you told me I wasn't yours to keep.
And I don't know why I still love you,
But,
For some reason,
I still do.

Bridge:
And I don't know what makes me love you.

Chorus:
Maybe it's the hair, or the eyes,
Or the personality.
Maybe it's the way you walk, the way you talk,
Or the way you look at me.
And I always prayed to my God above,
That I'd never lose your love,
But,
I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Verse 2:
I never thought I'd be without you,
You gave me that one little shred of hope.
And I always thought our love was true,
I always thought it's me and you,
I thought,
I thought,
I thought.

Bridge:
But I still don't know what makes me love you.

Chorus:
Maybe it's the hair, or the eyes,
Or the personality.
Maybe it's the way you walk, the way you talk,
Or the way you look at me.
And I always prayed to my God above,
That I'd never lose your love,
But,
I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Verse 3:
That first conversation,
It got me thinking.
That first embrace,
It kept me waiting.
The first kiss,
I was hooked.
You brought me back to life,
I thought it was you...
But I was wrong.

Bridge:
Will I ever know what makes me love you?

Chorus:
Maybe it's the hair, or the eyes,
Or the personality.
Maybe it's the way you walk, the way you talk,
Or the way you look at me.
And I always prayed to my God above,
That I'd never lose your love,
But,
I guess it just wasn't meant to,
Guess it just wasn't meant to,
Guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Maybe it's the hair, or the eyes,
Or the personality.
Maybe it's the way you walk, the way you talk,
Or the way you look at me.
And I always prayed to my God above,
That I'd never lose your love,
But,
I guess it just wasn't,
I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

And I'm slowly seeing the truth,
And I'm slowly seeing why I love you...
