Warts are the unnatural growths on skin that occur because of a virus known as HPV, i.e Human Papilloma Virus. The most common warts found in people are the skin warts and the genital warts. Most warts are harmless as they remain on the skin surface and do not penetrate deep. However, they look very ugly and can give the person a negative body image, especially if they are on the exposed body parts. Although, warts can be removed through certain medical procedures such as Cryosurgery, yet, certain remedies for wart removal can be equally effective.

Duct Tape
To get rid of warts, cut out a small piece of duct tape and cover the wart with it. Leave the duct tape on the wart, as it is, for about a week. After one week has passed, remove the tape carefully and gently. Next, soak the wart in water for about fifteen minutes to make it soft. After that, taking a pumice stone, scrub the wart out. Remember not to over scrub as it can be damaging for the skin. If the wart doesn't come out easily, repeat the whole procedure again, i.e tape the wart for another week or more, till the wart is completely removed.

Apple Cider
Take a cotton ball and dab it in apple cider vinegar. Cover the wart with it and next stick a band-aid, preferably waterproof, on it. Keep the band-aid on for about a day. After that remove it slowly and most probably the wart will come out. If it does not, repeat the procedure again for a few days, till the wart comes out.

Garlic
Garlic is an all natural cure for getting rid of warts as it has many antiviral properties. For getting rid of warts, take a raw garlic and crush it. Mix it with water and apply it on the wart to be removed. Next, bandage the affected area for about one day. Next day, remove the bandage. If a blister has appeared, it means that the wart will drop off in a week's time.

Salicylic Acid
Plantar warts occur on the soles of the feet. For plantar wart removal, a mixture of salicylic acid and white paraffin has to be prepared. Start by soaking the feet in water for some time so that the wart softens up a bit. This will help in better absorption of the mixture prepared earlier. Now, apply the mixture on the wart using a cotton ball and cover it with a bandage. Preferably follow this treatment in the night as the mixture has to be left on for a few hours. In the morning, wash the feet with water and scrub the wart and the surrounding dead skin using a pumice stone. Repeat this plantar wart treatment for a few days till the wart is removed.

Vitamin E Oil
Although it cannot be predicted whether genital warts can be removed with vitamin E oil, yet they can be tried at least once along with the regular medical treatment one is undertaking. For genital wart removal, apply vitamin E oil on the wart. Next take a raw garlic, crush it and apply its paste on the wart too. Wrap the wart with a tape for a week. After one week, remove the tape and the genital wart may come off too.

Besides these, a person has to take certain precautions such as not touching the infected skin again and again, and maintaining hygiene by keeping the skin clean and using washed towels, bed sheets, etc. By following these precautions and the above-mentioned home remedies, a person can get rid of warts, sitting at home.
