The living room of the house is the first impression that people have of your home. So, you need to make it look as elegant as possible. The best advice would be to stick to simple yet modern designs. Simple does not translate to boring. You can try out the ideas given below.
- Try a design with squares or stripes running across the length or breadth of the walls.
- If you have the resources and are inclined towards history, you can paint all the walls in a nude shade, barring one wall. On this one, you can ask an artist to hand paint an important historical event. Just make sure it is not colorful. Use a shade darker than the nude that you use for the other walls.
- Paint all the walls in a bright color. Mango, peach or even lime green looks good. It may seem a little loud, but when you hang some simple medium-sized photographs or art works in similar frames on these walls, they will look fabulous.
There are quite a few wall painting ideas that you can explore too. It totally depends on what kind of theme you want to set for your bedroom. Let us check out the ones given below.
- If you're looking for something sexy and elegant at the same time, a combination of red and black is a great idea. You can have alternate walls painted in red and black, have a single black line running vertically down a red wall or vice versa or you can have a huge black rose painted on a red wall.
- Here's an idea that look both classy and exquisite. The walls can all be painted in black or navy blue. If black, then choose white furniture, and if navy blue, then cream furniture. On the wall behind the headboard of the bed, you can hang a huge painting that has a lot of vivid colors in it. Abstract art will work best for this.
- Another idea you can try is, a classic beige and brown combination. Paint all walls beige and one coffee brown. On the coffee brown wall, get only the stencil of the Celtic Tree of Life painted. If you're feeling a little bold, you can inverse the idea. Paint all the walls brown and on the beige wall, have the Tree of Life painted in coffee brown.
Kids rooms are the best place to try out something creative. You can try out various designs and combinations to make their room look as fun and enjoyable as they want.
- For a girls' room, butterflies look extremely cute. Since the butterflies have to be the main attraction, choose a light pastel shade as a base. Then, you can either have tiny butterflies painted on all the walls or you can pick one wall, and have a string of butterflies painted in a slanting manner. The size of the butterflies can reduce from top to bottom as you paint them. Use bright and intense colors. Add a bit of glitter on the wings if your girl likes it.
- For a boy's room, a simple design works best. Try this one: use a dull shade of gray to paint all the walls. On the wall behind the bed, have a silhouette of a biker painted on in a shade of gray darker than that of the walls.
- For a neutral idea, you can try out the ever popular, simple but effective color combination idea. Beige and maroon, white and lime green, purple and cream, orange and light yellow, gray and dark blue, cream and beige, white and black, etc. are all very neutral and very popular color combinations that you can use to paint your kids' rooms.
