Walking 10,000 Steps a Day - A Review of Who Can Benefit
Walking 10,000 steps a day is not for everyone. Read this article to see whether this activity is for you.
Walking 10K steps/day is NOT for extremely obese or otherwise-out-of-shape people. Those individuals will be advised by their physicians that they must take baby steps before they even THINK about taking 10K steps/day.
Walking 10K steps/day is NOT for know-it-all athletes. Those individuals will dismiss a 10K-steps/day program as wimpy or unhelpful or something that they already effectively are completing as they pursue their workout routines.
Walking 10K steps/day is NOT for people who cannot stick with something new. Those individuals will give up soon after they start, just as they do with many other changes that they try to make.
Walking 10K steps/day is NOT for people who "want it now". Those individuals will give up because they will not see immediate results. Or, upon learning that a 10K-steps/day program takes time to show results, they may not even start the program.
Walking 10K steps/day is NOT for people who will "get around to it some day". Those individuals will never get started because "some day" will never arrive.
Walking 10K steps/day is NOT for people who are "too busy". Those individuals will always have an excuse why they are NOT taking action - that their days are simply too full to make time for this.
But walking 10K steps/day IS for people who have sufficient fitness, who like to keep learning, who have persistence, who have patience, who are motivated to change today instead of tomorrow, and who are willing to adjust their schedules and habits to improve their lives.
