It absolutely amazes me, the amount of bullshit that women and men can articulate; and women wonder why most men choose to date younger women, and men wonder why women act the way that they do. I've heard women say, 'I just want to be friends' after showing months of interests-never mind the fact that the man never approached her initially. I've heard men scandalize their woman's name for a insignificant piece of ass-not realizing how ignorant their making us all look. I've also heard women say, 'Oh my kids' using them as a crutch or excuse to avoid commitment-never minding the mere fact that he was interested although she had kids in the first place. I guess having a father figure isn't important. I guess one income is better than two. I guess having multiple sex partners is more central. These are some things, or reasons why the relationship world is so fucked up. GAMES-We play entirely too many.
It is my belief that initially we, as men, created this ripple; this nonfunctional gap between us and women. Many of us have misused and degraded the value of a good woman, and played with their emotions and heart so bad, that we've changed the overall definition of relationship, love and trust-forever.
We say we want a good woman or man, but cheat with temptation. We indulge in fantasy, but shun reality. We invent cures, but invite disaster. When are we going to realize that Life and Love is not a game, but one and the same?
Now look at us, we have women dating women, and men dating men, all phallocentric. Hell, we even have those who work both sides of the table-now ain't that a bitch-and we, as individuals or better yet, a generation, have the audacity to blame it on a fucking gene within our biological make up-oh please....I say if that makes you feel better, or sleep well at night...then so be it.
I've even heard some people blame it on a mother or father figure not being around; that's unlikely, but okay-I can go along with that. I can even go along with the fact that it is what it is; but the one thing that neither of us can deny is that the bible doesn't condone it. It's simply incongruous-but hey, to each his own. If anything, I believe it's all the bullshit that these people have had to put up within their lives that has caused them to make a irrational judgment into something rational on their sexual preference. Believe-you-me, I could be wrong, but hell this is merely my opinionated perspective on things.
And yes . . . I have been hurt-multiple times, and even recently. But I tell you one thing; it wouldn't cause me to turn to another man, other than Jesus, or my inner self for comfort and guidance.
We proclaim to love, but stab each other in the back. We celebrate black history month, but kill each other in the streets. We pride ourselves on earthly possessions, but not in faith. Our youth can recite a rap song from top to bottom, but can't tell you what was Harriet Tubman's contribution to our history, or even who the fuck she was. What's really going on?
We look at relationships as a recreational pastime, while our kids are having kids and dropping out of school. We complain too much, but put no effort towards a solution. We strive for excellence, but fail to achieve. We claim to be intelligent, but have no common sense. We let our kids walk-about with their clothes hanging off their ass, but get upset over the trouble they get into. Our kids want to be rappers and thugs, but not fishers of men. What happened to the love, respect and dignity we had for one another? Huh? I'm amazed because Nowhere in the history books have I read a civil right's leader say this is why we fought for equality, or this is why we marched and died on the streets of America-so our kids can grow up and be thugs, talk Ebonics and dress with no sense of home training or self respect.
If you don't know where the concept of the pants hanging off the ass comes from, allow me to tell you... The concept comes from jail. A man would where his pants hanging off his ass to let individuals know that he's available. Now take a moment and inhale what I just said....to let people know that he's a-vai-la-ble. I can't put any plainer than that.
And what's even more disturbing is that some of us think it's cool. Let me tell you something, it's not cool (for you men out there) and it's definitely not cute (for you women out there) so let's Wake Up people. We say we love life...well, our life is love, and LOVE is everything!
