"Waiting for the day"

Waiting for the day to come
So I can see this smile.
That makes everyday that seems so rough
To be worth every while.
Hoping that it will never leave my side
Or I will soon like the sun fade away.

Waiting for the spring to come
Waiting for cool spring kisses of April
Coming to place where I reminisce
of the times that we shared so tenderly.
And now what was once sweet laughs and smiles,
Are tears and lies of a once friendship.

But I still wait for the sun to rise and the moon to set.
So happiness can shine upon you and me.
I wait long for words of happiness to spill from your teasing lips.
Why must it be we and not others?
Too much pain from waiting to be with you.
I’m shadowing my pain with images of your smile.
