To practice the volleyball passing drills for beginners, you will need a buddy, who is willing and interested in volleyball. These simple volleyball drills for beginners will go a long in helping build your self-confidence. You toss an easy ball to your buddy to pass. After dealing with a preset number (10 per head, is a good number) of tosses, your buddy tosses the ball for you. When both of you are proficient in passing the tossed ball, it is time to pass the ball back and forth. This will make the drill more fast, interesting and competitive.
Volleyball Drills for Beginners #2 - Wall Hitting
It may happen that your buddy is not in position to attend the volleyball drill. No problem! You can still practice your drill. What you need is a ball, a wall and willingness to apply your skills. Choose a spot on the wall to hit and try to hit the spot when tossing the ball. Instead of many hasty trials, concentrate on achieving accuracy by employing proper arm swing techniques, whilst hitting the tossed ball.
This is how you do it. Toss the volleyball, take a step and try to hit the spot on the wall. Deal yourself a set of 10 tosses and the next set for your buddy for the sake of competition. You can vary your drill by tossing the volleyball, raising your arms and angling the ball to hit the ground. Be prepared to play your next shot, when the ball bounces of the ground, then the wall and comes seeking you.
Volleyball Drills for Beginners #3 - Wall Block
Do you know the easiest way to train yourself to avoid touching the net on the way down, after executing a spectacular block, in order to reap its full benefits for your team? Position yourself in front of a wall. Adopt the proper blocking position and jump as high as you can to touch the wall. The purpose is to touch the wall, i.e. to imitate you have executed a block, as high as you can, whilst following the proper blocking techniques. It is important to land on the ground in the proper block position, so that you are ready to follow with the next block, if it is needed. When perfected this volleyball drills for beginners, hones your defensive skills.
Volleyball Drills for Beginners #4 - Ball in Play
Now is the time to go for the volleyball drills for beginners that will help you in keeping the ball in play for a long time. Here is how you can do it. Let your buddy stand on the other side of the net. Toss the ball and start setting it to each other. If you cannot get to the ball in time, bump it for yourself and then set it across the net. Does it feel like a duel? Yes, it is. The aim is to hone your skills in setting the ball to the other side of the net with economical movements and accuracy.

The intent of volleyball drills for beginners, is to improve your serving skills. You and your buddy should stand on the baselines of the volleyball court, across the net and facing each other. The idea is to serve the volleyball to each other. You can start serving the volleyball from inside the baseline, which will bring you close to net.
As both of you get comfortable in serving the volleyball to the player on the other side of net, start moving to the baseline.
