The tour to Omkareshwara is very interesting and is also known to be one of the most sacred destinations of the Madhya Pradesh. The Omkareshwara Temple is situated on the banks of Narmada River on the mountain of Mandhata in the Malwa area in Madhya Pradesh. The temple is linked closely with the Mammaleshwar Temple which is situated at the south of River Narmada as both are the forms of Shiva. When the river Narmada is separated into two parts an island is formed which is in the shape of Om.

Shiv Purana explains the greatness of Omkareshwara and Mammaleshwara. Here is the confluence of two rivers Narmada and Kaveri, the devout to gather at the sacred Jyotirlinga (one of the twelve in India) at the temple of Shri Omkar Mandhata. The famous and the most sacred shrine of Madhya Pradesh that compliments the nature's beauty to provide the awe inspiring in the magnificence. Between the hills there is Vindhyas in the north, satpura in the south. Narmada is there as the silent pool there which is full of the alligators and crocodiles. The river is near about 270 feet and was established in the year 1979. The pool above the river enhances the beauty of the scenery.

The Siddnath Temple: The example of early medieval Brahminic architecture. The most attractive feature of the temple is the elephants that rises up till 1.5 meters high and is carved on stone slab at its outer perimeter. The shrine is encircled by verandahs with columns carved in circles, polygons and squares.
24 Avtars: There is the cluster of Hindu and Jain temple which is again built in the architectural structure.
Satmatrika Temple: The temple is located at the distance of 6 km away from the Omkareshwara. This is the group of the temples which are built in the 10th century.
Kajal Rani Cave: This place is basically located at the distance of the 9 km from Omkareshwara and basically the place is visited by the people as its one of the best picturesque scenic destination.
How to Reach?
By Air: The nearest airport there is Indore which is around 77 km and is connected regularly by the flights with almost all the major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Chennai, Bangalore etc.
By Rail: The nearest railway station is the Omkareshwara Road which is around 12 km on the Ratlam - Khandwa section of the western railways.
By Road: Omkareshwara is connected to the Indore, Ujjain, Khandwa and Omkareshwara Road through regular bus service.
