Difference or Delay in Menstruation: Missed or delayed periods is one of the most common symptoms of pregnancy that lead to women testing for pregnancy. Once pregnancy occurs, moat women miss their next period. Some women do bleed during their pregnancy, but the bleeding is typically lighter and shorter compared to normal menstruation.
Bleeding on Implantation: The embryo is implanted in the wall of the uterus about 6 to 12 days after conception. This is when some spotting or bleeding can occur. The bleeding due to implantation is characterized by being brownish or pinkish, and not heavy. Some women may also experience cramping. This, in fact, is usually one the earliest signs of pregnancy.
Tender or Swollen Breasts and Nipples: Tender or swollen breasts and nipples can be experienced as early as 1 to 2 weeks after conception takes place. Women usually experience changes in their breasts, such as swelling up, soreness, or being tender to the touch.
Darkening of the Areolas: The skin around the nipples can darken about one week after conception. Even the little bumps on the areolas may seem more prominent.
Morning Sickness or Nausea: This symptom of early pregnancy, which is well-known, usually occurs sometime around 2 to 8 weeks after conception. While some women feel nauseous all through most of the pregnancy, others may not experience it at all, or may experience just a mild form of it.
Frequent Urination: An increase in the frequency of urination is another common symptom of early pregnancy. The changes in the levels of hormones that is caused due to the embryo implanting itself in the uterus, particularly the hormone HCG, or human chorionic gonadtropin, results in an increase in the frequency of urination.
Cravings for Foods: Many women experience cravings for foods, which begins early in the pregnancy, which can last all through the pregnancy.
Tiredness and Fatigue: Feeling a sense of tiredness or fatigue can also begin early in the pregnancy – as early as the first week, in fact.
Backache: Aches in the lower back is another common symptom most women experience beginning from the very early stages of their pregnancy, which can last all through the pregnancy.
Headache: The sudden changes and increase of hormones can cause headaches to occur in the early stages of pregnancy.
