Being on a veggie delight could actually be delightful when you know it's gonna help you lose the dreaded... 'extra weight'! In case you are wondering if I'm talking about Subway, let me tell that I wasn't. I'm referring to vegetable soups here, veggies right, they are always a delight to me. Anyway, moving forward, you all must have heard of many fad diets that promise to help you lose weight but it only seems to be a dream to some as the results are not favorable to all. If you have tried all or at least one of those so-called 'promising fad diets', why not try out the benign vegetable soup diet for fast weight loss. You read it right, being on a soup diet can help you losing that extra bulge around your belly and make you feel lighter and healthier!

Many might refuse to go on a liquid diet, particularly those who have tried several diets in the past with no successful results. But the point here is on a vegetable soup diet you can rest assured that you'll not be missing out on any essential nutrients that many of the other diets miss out on. Please note that we are not trying to pester you to go on a soup diet. We'll simply share with you how does this diet works and information on how to start the diet and once you know how, you can decide for yourself if you'd want to follow it or not.

As mentioned earlier, vegetable soup diet is not just low in calories and helps in weight loss but also is nutritious which means that the person does not look all dull, sick and saggy after losing weight but glowing and in the best of health. An interesting fact about this fat burning diet is that, it is best for those who have food cravings and tend to eat more than 3 meals a day, the only catch here is that the cravings are restricted to the meals and foods that are mentioned in this diet plan and eating anything besides what's mentioned here is forbidden. You can eat all that's given in the diet plan as much as you want, better if you spread across 6 meals a day.

Vegetable Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • Onion - 1 if large or 2
  • Diced tomatoes - 2 cups
  • Chopped carrots - 2
  • Celery - As preferred
  • Cabbage - 2 cups
  • Pumpkin - 2 cups
  • Beans - 2 cups
  • Boiled lentils - 1 cup
Add water to the mix of vegetables and lentils, boil for 10 to 12 minutes and let it simmer until the vegetables become tender. You can also add other vegetables or swap your favorite with the ones' mentioned here in this recipe.

Vegetable Soup Diet Plan

Unlike other diets such as the 7 day diet plan for weight loss, the soup diet does not stretch straight to a period of 7 days. It promises a weight reduction of 5 pounds after following it for 3 days and then after a break of 4 days (which involves normal eating) requires to start with the diet plan again to complete the course of 7 days. One might lose 10 pounds once the 7 day hurdle is accomplished. Given below is a table illustrating the diet plan.

Day Meal Plan
1 You can have as much as fruits (excluding bananas) and soup you'd like to have. To minimize hunger, spread the meals to 6 times during the day.
2 Follow the six meals a day plan and eat vegetables and soup on soup today. As per your preference you may either cook the vegetables or eat them raw. Include as much green leafy vegetables as possible. If you must, you are allowed to eat 1 baked potato at dinnertime.
3 Eat fruits, vegetables and soup but no potatoes today.
Break Break
4 Drink skimmed milk and eat at least 3 bananas during the day. Also have soup, at least one serving if not more.
5 Have serving of soup plus 5 to 6 raw tomatoes. You can also eat a small portion of baked or broiled meat (fish/skinless chicken/beef)
6 At least one serving of soup and as many vegetables you want,have more of green leafy vegetables. Again you are allowed to eat a small portion of baked or broiled meat (fish/skinless chicken/beef)
7 Eat cooked vegetables and as much soup as you want. You can also have a portion of brown rice and fresh fruit juice without added sugars.

Not consuming canned foods, avoiding potatoes completely during this program, drinking plenty of water are some of the things to remember when following the vegetable soup diet. It seems to be easy and too much of a pain but it sure isn't. One cannot possibly stick to this diet plan without a strong will. I'm no one to encourage you or discourage you to follow this so take your own call. Although this diet plan seems to be harmless, you want to consider consulting your nutritionist before you make a decision.
