Van Nistelrooy to Liverpool FC?
The latest on transfer rumors from the Barclays Premier League.
Ex Manchester United star Ruud Van Nistelrooy has been linked with a shock move to Liverpool FC.
The ailing and injured football club is running helter and skelter trying to find a striker who will score the goals and yet come cheap, preferably on a loan. And Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who has fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid since the arrival of Karim Benzema, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer, might be looking for a move to his favorite hunting ground, the Barclays Premier League.
Van Nistelrooy has proven his mettle in England and was immensely successful in his 5 year stay at Manchester United, thumping in 95 goals in 150 games. His finishing skills are favorably looked upon by Liverpool FC and their apparent bidding competitors, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
Whichever club the 33-year old Dutch star moves to, it is believed that it will most certainly be a loan move. And the clubs aren't complaining. Ruud has been immensely successful in England and has the experience to get along with the English game in no time. And with Fernando Torres out, Liverpool in particular would welcome an expert marksman of Van Nistelrooy's caliber, despite his earlier association with arch rivals Manchester United.
As the January transfer window inches, it looks like it's going to be a busy affair due to too many injuries and unsatisfied bench players.
