It has been reported that the Van Halen tour has been put on hold while Eddie Van Halen is suffering from an unidentified illness.

Concert promoter Live Nation announced Monday that four stops on the Van Halen reunion tour have been postponed due to Eddie’s illness. His physician reportedly said, "He is undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures." Upcoming shows scheduled in Dallas, Cincinnati, Ohio; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Baltimore have been rescheduled for April dates. The shows have not been canceled and it has been reported that any tickets for the canceled dates will be honored at the reschedule dates.
The tour is set to resume in Charlottesville, Virginia on May 11 and features original band mates Eddie & Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth. The newest addition is Eddie’s 16-year old son Wolfgang. Eddie Van Halen battled tongue cancer for several years, but was given a clean bill of health in 2002. He claimed that years of smoking did not contribute to the cancer, but that a metal pick he used to hold in his mouth was the cause.
Eddie has also battled addictions to both drugs and alcohol and entered a rehab facility last March around the time that rumors of a reunion tour started circulating. At the time, Eddie Van Halen wrote on their website, "I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That’s why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110 percent that I feel I owe you and want to give you."
