Vampire

A scared girl sits in her room
Waiting for night to come to an end
A movement sets her on edge
But she laughs at her own foolishness
She hugs her knees and hums to herself
Thinking I can get through tonight
All of the sudden the window opens
And in steps a man smiling with glee
His eyes are crimson red
Dark as the night
His skin is pale
Pale as dawn light
He steps closer to her
And smiles a rueful smile
He show is sharp fangs
The girl wants to shriek
The man steps toward her
And takes her in his arms
"Hush" he soothes
"It will be over soon"
With that he kisses her neck
She goes limp with fright
He tangles his finger in her hair
And touches his lips to her neck
She flinches in pain
But soon forgets it all
The man lays her down
And smiles that rueful smile
He leaves without a sound
She lies awake groggy and confused
But she soon realizes
She will never again be afraid of the night
