Usher’s Mom Skipped Wedding
It was previously reported that Usher’s mother was in attendance at his Saturday wedding, but sources say that she was not there.

A source close to Usher’s family has shot down reports that Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, attended her son’s wedding ceremony on Saturday. The source has reported that Patton spent the day at a luxurious day spa in Atlanta instead. Reportedly, most of Usher’s friends weren’t even aware he had gotten married. Said the source, "Some people didn’t know about [the civil wedding] until a day later." The source added, "But that’s Usher and Tameka for you. One think one day and a whole other thing the next."
Usher, 28, and Foster, 37, were supposed to tie the knot in a lavish ceremony at the home of music mogul L.A. Reid on July 28. The day of the wedding the couple abruptly called off the ceremony. Many rumors were surrounding the couple as to why they did not tie the knot. There were rumors that Usher and Foster were fighting over everything from his mother’s refusal to attend the ceremony, to the menu, to the entertainment at the reception. Usher shot down all the rumors saying that the five-month pregnant Foster had a "pregnancy scare" brought on by the stress of planning the wedding. The couple reported that the baby was fine a few days later.
Instead, Usher and Foster quietly tied the knot at his lawyer’s office in Atlanta in front of three witnesses. Usher said, "It was beautiful and private. We didn’t have a first dance – but we had a lovely, intimate dinner filled with candlelight and flowers." According to Usher, the couple plan to have a large wedding reception "later in the year, or after the baby is born." This is Usher’s first marriage and child. Foster was previously married to Noontime Music co-founder Ryan Glover with whom she has three children.
