It was reported Thursday that Usher, 28, had filed for a separation from Foster, 36. Benny Medina, Usher’s manager, said, "It’s 100% not true. Usher and Tameka are currently traveling in Europe together as a family on his promotional tour. The rumor is completely false." Usher and Foster were married on August 3, 2007 in a small and intimate civil ceremony at his lawyer’s office. The couple was reportedly planning a big ceremony in July, but they pushed the wedding back and eventually settled for a small ceremony. Usher reportedly said at the time, "It was beautiful and private. We didn’t have a first dance – but we had a lovely, intimate dinner filled with candlelight and flowers."
It was rumored that Usher called off the wedding because the couple had been fighting over the wedding planning and the fact that Foster allegedly refused to sign a pre-nup. It was also rumored that Usher’s mother, Johnetta Patton, did not approve of the marriage and refused to attend. Foster slammed the rumors and said, "No one [in the media] knows why we cancelled the wedding, but I can tell you that all of the reasons that everyone is speculating and writing about are completely untrue."
The couple has been friends for about seven years, five of which Foster worked as Usher’s personal stylist. They began dating almost two years ago and they announced Foster’s pregnancy last June. The couple welcomed a son, Usher Raymond V, in November. This is the first child for Usher and the fourth for Foster who has three children with her ex-husband, Noontime Music cofounder Ryan Glover.
