Uphill Both Ways

A poem about the struggles of a friend.
Your life seems like a constant struggle
Desperate to find someone to snuggle
Watching your household fall apart
Sick of the conflicts that words start

Marching through life to the beat of your own drum
Hoping its tempo doesn't leave you undone
Don't mark the words of those who don't care
Focus on the friendships of the ones still there

The weight of the world makes everyone fall
I am still here to help with it all
You can't wait to get out of this place
Your mind always wanders, hopeless in space

It ruins your day and your mood
When people only talk of how you are crude
You are the one holding yourself down
More so than anyone else in this town

Fight the bars placed in your mind
You'll be victorious, forever in time.
