Unwilling Groom Chapter 32

Ruhi awoke with a massive headache. Well that's what you get when you cry so much and also red eyes. She remembered last evening, Anu had come to rescue her and stayed with her and then taken her home. She had also explained to Aditya's mom that she was staying at Anu's place.

The entire evening Anu and Gaurav had been with her and helped her a lot. They had taken care of her and she had been so exhausted that she didn't even remembered when she slept. She got up and went in the kitchen where she found Anu and Gaurav kissing. She had to smile at the image, they both had been free spirits till they met each other. She cleared her throat and saw them coming apart, Gaurav blushed and looked cute. He always looked hot and sexy but first time he looked cute Ruhi thought.

She sat on the table and smiled at Anu when she brought her tea. There was silence and no one bothered to break the silence. Ruhi knew she had avoided facing her family last night but soon she would have to face them. She would also have to face Aditya and that thought brought the ache again. Determined to ignore it she looked at Anu who was reading the newspaper. There was nothing wrong with the image but then it struck her, the ring in her third finger was a diamond ring in a beautiful square setting.

"Anu, you purchased a new jewelry and didn't tell me?" startled by her question Anu looked at Ruhi.

Ruhi saw the guilt on her face and she realized it, "Anu, you didn't tell me?" Ruhi accused Anu.

"Look I am sorry Ruhi but after he proposed the next day Eve came so I thought I should wait for more appropriate time to tell you"

Ruhi knew Anu had done it for her, saying nothing she got up and hugged Anu. Anu felt relief and she hugged Ruhi back. Anu saw Gaurav at the door grinning at her, she smiled back. He mouthed that we need to tell her and Anu knew what he meant.

Aditya had come last night, Ruhi had been asleep at that time. He had sat with her while she had been sleeping. He had told them that Eve had come for a short time but the result was the same. Even if Ruhi would feel relief now but she had a taste now what would it be like when Eve came back for good. But they had to tell her, Anu nodded to Gaurav and he went away.

Ruhi was asking her about her plans and when they were planning to get married. When she looked at Anu she stopped her questions and looked at Anu.

"Ruhi after you slept last night Aditya had come here." Anu stopped and let Ruhi digest that information.

"mmm he told us that Eve has come here for a week and she would go back after that. Her project is not over in Singapore yet" The first thing Ruhi knew was relief, she had time with Aditya. She knew she was being selfish, but sharing Aditya for a week and then getting him back sounded better to Ruhi and then losing him altogether.

She hadn't thought that he would come to her but he had what did it mean? She knew that he cared for her, but did his care went till love or not?

Ruhi squeezed Anu's hand and smiled at her, "Thanks Anu and again Congratulations. I'll get freshen up and leave for office"

She met Gaurav as he was leaving for office, she just went and hugged him. "Congratulations" Gaurav had been surprised but he recovered fast and hugged Ruhi back. "Thanks" He replied to Ruhi.

He had liked Ruhi immensely since the first time they had met, he knew that she was what his friend needed. But there were some things person had to determine himself.

He smiled and went to office, Ruhi also went to freshen up.

Yesterday she had left her work in between but she had to do it today.

Eve sat in the room, she had not slept all night thinking all she had seen yesterday. In the silent night she had remembered many things that had happened yesterday. She remembered the shock of seeing herself in Aditya's eyes. At that time she had passed it on shock of seeing her but there was something else too. Also there were murmurs in the office, she had not been paying attention to what they had been saying. But she knew they had been talking about Aditya's wife. Apart from that there was Aditya he had behaved quite strangely with her.

There was one more thing needling her, he had told her that he had slept with his wife as they both were attracted to each other. Eve appreciated his honesty but why had he told her? What kind of reaction had he expected, and there was the relief she had seen on his face when she had announced that she was here for a week.

So what did al this mean? Was he in love with his wife? That question disturbed Eve a lot. She hadn't thought of this scenario, she had just been happy when Aditya had said he going into a convenience marriage.

But this was possible and it had never occurred to her that he might fall in love with the person he married. She had assumed that his wife would be someone his family had selected and will not appeal to him.

Maybe she shouldn't have assumed so much, so now if her thinking was right where did that leave her? Eve was realist she understood that a person can fall for someone else too, and if Aditya did love his wife then she needed to find it out.

She will not consider what she was feeling now, it hurt that the person she loved had started loving someone else. But when she was not there she couldn't expect him to love to her the same way. She knew that many girls would argue over this and fight with the guys but she had left him for the career and she did not regret it. But if Aditya did love his wife then there would be too much to regret. And there would be too much of hurt also, she had finally thought she found someone who liked her the way she was.

She needed some answers and only Aditya could give them.

She got up and got ready to go to meet Aditya.

Aditya was at the office, he had no intention of working but this was better than wandering aimlessly. She had seen Ruhi last night and he was still not sure how he felt. At that time he had a sudden urge to talk to Ruhi, they had not spoken to each other after he had informed her that Eve had come back. Last night she had been sleeping so soundly that he didn't want to wake her up.

He got up from his seat and went out, dialed Ruhi's no. She answered after third ring.

"Yeah Aditya"

"Hi Ruhi, how are you?" Aditya couldn't remember anything else to ask her.

"I am fine. Anu told me that you had come last night. Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You were sleeping too soundly and it was late"

There was silence after his last sentence and they both didn't know what else to say. Finally Ruhi cleared her throat. "So how is Eve?"

"Good, she is good. She has come back for a week as she had some leaves pending. "

Again silence stretched, they both were not sure what to say but they didn't want to disconnect the line also.

"Ruhi. I told her that we have consummated our marriage" He heard her intake of breath.

"Why Aditya?"

"Ruhi, She had a right to know. It was not right on my part to hide it from her and I am not ashamed that I slept with you so I told her"

"How did she take it?"

"She was hurt by it and asked me to leave, and still she has not called me." Again silence, Ruhi was not sure what to think.

She had never expected Aditya to call her, she was imagining him with Eve making up for the lost time. But here he was telling her that he told his Eve that he had slept with his wife. Suddenly he was the same Aditya who had made love to her and made he laugh so many times.

"Aditya what are we going to do now?" She heard him sigh and knew that even he didn't have that answer.

"Ruhi I " Suddenly he stopped and Ruhi was not sure what was he going to say and what made him stop. Before she could ask him he said he would call her back and disconnected her call.

Here Eve was standing in front of him and she seemed angry at him. He had been engrossed in his conversation with Ruhi to notice Eve standing behind him. When he had turned he had noticed her and had stopped in between whatever he had planned to tell Ruhi.

"What is going on Aditya" Eve asked him and he was not sure from where to start.
