Until the very end

My best friend wrote this for me because she envies the life I have...but personally, I don’t enjoy my life the way it is either.
I compare my life to yours.
I compare myself to you.

I compare my laugh.
I compare my dad.
I compare everything,
Even the way I cry when I'm sad.

Your life is what I want.
Your life is what I crave.
But you’re my friend, so keep your life,
And I'll keep our love all the way to the grave.

Your father daughter trips.
Your mother daughter talks.
Everything you have is what I want.
Even how you walk.

The way you dress.
The sound of your voice.
Your 4-year-old monster,
And all of her toys.

Your life is the opposite of mine.
Can't you see?
And I highly doubt,
You wish you were me.

With your house in a fancy neighborhood.
Every single thing you have,
That you take for granted.
Even the crazy way you laugh.

I love you,
Because you're my best friend,
But I'll always want what you have.
Until the very end.
