Unstoppable

Shackles bound them together
Inseparable
In more than one way
They stuck together until the end
Torn away from their families
They were alone
To face their fate

Stowed away under decks
Like the cargo they seemed to be
They were neglected
Like no one should ever be

Food?
Water?
Happiness?
These people had none of that
There was no "life" to living
Who can really take it

Sold for property
Only to serve
For those who wouldn't care about others well-being
The economy flourished
But for what cause?
As inhuman it was
Nobody cared

It was cruel
It was horrid
But not bad enough for anyone to put a stop to it
So many miserable people
So many lost lives
Was it really worth it?
