Unlimited Multimedia Files with the Sony Ericsson Aino
The Sony Ericsson Aino will enter the markets together with its bigger brother, the Satio, this October to cap the company’s illustrious product line this 2009. The Aino is the first to feature Remote Play where your handset becomes a client to your PS3 gaming console at home. That means you can access the PS hard drive’s digital content from anywhere on earth via WiFi or its 3G/HSDPA high speed internet connection. If that isn’t enough entertaining while on the road, we don’t know what is.
In addition, the Aino handset can access the PlayStation Store to download PSN games and chat with fellow gamers and friends via the PSN. The downloaded games won’t play on the Aino, but you can upload it to your PS3 console when you get home.
Targeting the Right Markets
Sony Ericsson seems to be targeting the PS3 market with its new Aino touchscreen slider. The way we see it, current PS3 owners are a natural for the Aino’s Remote Play feature. And those who are about to get a PS3 just might get one. But if the market of the PS3 is any indication, that’s not many. The PS3 is getting a pounding in the gaming markets from the Wiii and the Xbox. It’s also possible that the Sony Ericsson Aino might inspire some segments of the mobile phone market to get a PS3 just to benefit from those features.
But for sure, Sony Ericsson has a sure market in its new Aino. This is the first handset in the company’s mobile gadget stable to feature Remote Play and while it’s not complete without the giving the Aino computing power to play games, it proves that it can be done. So we can expect future Remote Play handsets to have this feature. Now if you don’t own a PS3, you still can benefit from Aino’s MediaGo feature that grabs media files wirelessly from your desktop or laptop PC while the Aino sits on a battery charger.
Remarkable Phone Features
Of course, the Sony Ericsson Aino won’t be complete as mobile phone with the following features: It has a 3G HSDPA/HSUPA high speed data connectivity for fast surfing and downloading over the internet, A2DP-supported Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless stereo headphones, Wi-Fi, GPS and up to 16 GB microSD memory expansion in lieu of its M2 – actually the first for a Sony Ericsson mobile phone. A high end 8 megapixel autofocus and touchfocus camera rounds out its excellent features complete with geo-tagging, face/smile shutter activation and image stabilization.
