Unlikely Actions - Chapter Four

15 minutes before the final bell.

"Hey Cass," I said nonchalantly, trying to keep my voice from shaking. I had promised to all of my other friends at lunch that I wouldn't meet Seth behind the gym, except Cassidy.

She was the only one who knew the truth about my afterschool scandal. "So, do you want me to walk you to the gym door? So no one gets suspicious?" She tried to act like she didn't want to go, but I could see the eagerness flicker in her eyes.

I laughed loudly, trying to shake off my nerves. My fingers were twitching rapidly and my palms were sweating profusely.

"Sure, but make sure you don't let him see you, he might think you're stalking him." I said, trying again to cover my nerves with humor. Cassidy tried to fake a laugh, but I could tell she was anxious to get outside.

"Let's go!" She shouted over the roar of the multitude of high schoolers.

She grabbed my hand and hurriedly dragged me outside into the crisp autumn air.
The leaves had already begun to change to an array of reds, yellows, and oranges.
I pulled my black sweater up closer to my ears, trying to stop my shaking. The weather, however, was the least of my worries.

As Cassidy pulled me toward the back entrance of the gym, I began to realize what I was about to do. I was going to go meet a guy I had no knowledge of, and then what?
Did I expect him to sweep my off my feet and pull me upon his white stallion?
I giggled unknowingly and Cassidy shot me a confused look." Okay, this is as far as I'm going."

Remember, be mysterious. Don't let him know you're into him. "She whispered, stopping 15 feet from the spot we were going to meet. I started walking towards the gym."

There he stood, leaning against the brick wall with his hands jammed in his pockets. I smiled at the sight of him.

His blonde shaggy hair a mess from the wind, and his golden brown eyes shined darkly.

He stood up off the wall and greeted me by brushing his lips against mine. I quickly pushed him away.

"I knew you would show up." He said with a grin, wrapping his large muscular arms around my waist.

He kissed me again, but this time with much more force. I tried to shove him off, but I was no match to his strength.

He was like an immovable object. I pulled away, sucking in air. "Seth, I really like you, but this is..." I trailed off.

He silenced me with another kiss. I gave in to him this time, my knees almost buckling underneath me, he pulled away abruptly and whispered breathlessly into my ear. "Let's go to my truck, get out of this cold weather."

I nodded in agreement and followed him to his black 4 door Silverado. I had butterflies in my stomach already.
