Unknown Spirits

I honestly believe that my house is haunted...
After the sun goes down,
And it’s black outside.
After the lights are all off,
And the world seems more peaceful.
That’s when I hear them.
That’s when I see them.
I can feel their cold eyes watching.
The air gets icy.
The hair on the back of my neck stand.
I never believed this before.
Never thought I would.
But after being here for this long,
I have come to notice,
I’m not alone.
They scream in my ear.
I see their dark dead figure at the end of the hall.
But I know that they are very much alive.
My heart beats fast.
I want to run.
I am frozen in place.
Will this be the time they come for me?
God, I hope not.
I finally get the nerve to walk away slowly.
Keeping in mind they could be right behind.
I feel their presence.
I turn to look.
Gone.
My pace gets quicker.
Voices screaming in my ears.
Clear enough to understand.
But after they yell their wants and needs.
It all becomes a blur to my memory.
I hide under my covers.
I know their out there.
Waiting for me.
Will this be the time they get me?
God, I hope not.
