A unique web design course, the first of its kind in Melbourne, 'Building a Successful Business Using the Internet', is soon to be delivered via Box Hill Tafe in Box Hill, Melbourne, Australia.

The web course, available to both existing small business owners and those with a concept for an online business, is to be delivered over ten weeks, commencing in the first week of October 2008.

Participants who complete the course will emerge with a functioning online business which they can continue to nurture using the skills learnt during the course. The sessions will consist typically of 50% classroom tutorial and 50% practical, with students actually building their websites in class as they go, with tutors providing support.

Technical expertise is not required, students need only be familiar with using the internet and have the desire to build an online presence for their chosen concept.

Participants will undertake unique brainstorming exercises to determine the viability of their ideas based on actual demand and supply of keywords on the internet. This data assists them in structuring their site to both serve a potential audience as well as 'winning' with the search engines, thus bringing a constant stream of free targeted traffic to their website. They will also explore a range of monetising options and apply the most applicable to their website/business from the tools provided in the course.
