Today we talk about unhealthy eating. I know it sounds very repetitive and your parents are tired of explaining it to you, but have you understood? Have a look at some information about unhealthy eating habits.
Junk food, French fries, pizzas, sandwiches, Pepsi and Coca-Cola, just hearing about these things makes you feel hungry. But do you how unhealthy they are for your body. The newer generation is still trying to understand it and they try to skip most of these products. Most of them have been bitten by the fitness bug which is gaining more and more fans all over. However, this craze of fitness leads young people to skip their meals, especially healthy foods and remain hungry for longer periods of the day. This behavior is basically called unhealthy eating which is very common in the younger generation of today's world.

People want to lose weight quick but are not ready to work on it. Rather than having a balanced diet and a planned exercise program, they starve till they choke and basically live on liquids which is not healthy in any situation. It's very necessary to teach the younger minds about the foods that give you more energy. Eating less is good but starving can prove fatal and lead to serious health complications.

Unhealthy eating doesn't mean just under-eating, it also means over-eating which is a common practice in the US. Sure, America is one of the most powerful economies but it's also the country that has the most obese people. This epidemic of obesity is because of modern science and its benefits which is making everything touch sensored. Medical care has also advanced and doctors are now able to treat diseases which were impossible even to understand few years back. Due to these modern medical marvels human lifespan has also increased, but we ourselves are making our lifespan short by indulging in unhealthy eating and not doing enough exercises.

Americans have a habit of eating too much. They stiff their stomachs with too much food and later regret it. Most Americans lead a busy lifestyle so they have less time to go to gym and they live to eat not eat to live. The country is one of the most advanced countries in the world and they have machines to do every household chore. So they end up doing nothing. This lifestyle of overeating and less exercising leads to a bulging stomach and various health complications. This obese lifestyle shuts all doors to a healthy lifestyle and we start suffering from high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure etc. A typical American diet consists of fatty foods which are high in cholesterol. This makes the problem more and more worse and they frequently suffer from eating disorders.

Unhealthy Eating Habits

It's an old saying which says, "You are what you Eat". In simple words what you eat will reflect your health. Here's a look at some unhealthy eating habits which should be avoided.
  • Never skip your breakfast. Many people have this bad habit of not having a nutritious breakfast. This mistake leads to fatigue, exhaustion and stress and you end up eating a heavy lunch. This leads to stomach inflammation.
  • Salt is very essential to make sure you have a good taste but too much salt can cause a lot of health complications. It's universally known that too much salt can cause a lot of stomach problems.
  • Avoid drinking water in the middle of the meal, the ideal time to drink water is 15 minutes before having food and at least after 1 hour after your meal. If you drink water between your meals you will dilute the gastric juice and also cause digestion problems.
  • Avoid fast and processed foods. These are heavily cooked foods which have lost their nutritive value and such foods are considered very hazardous for your health. Instead pick some items from this healthy foods list.
So these were some important details on unhealthy eating habits. Talking about unhealthy eating statistics, you would be shocked to know the alarming numbers which have been given out by the WHO. WHO recommends that overeating of fast foods results in at least 30,000 premature deaths every year in the US alone. An average American drinks up to 526 cans of sodas per year, if these 526 cans get replaced by water Americans will cut down on more than 6000 calories. I hope now you realize how important healthy living and regular exercising is.
