Unforgettable Love
New story that I just wrote, please comment.
"Nicole, time for school!" my older sister yelled from downstairs. "Ok! Hold on!" I shouted back. I lived with my sister, Hanna, in Virginia. Our parents had drowned while on their second honeymoon 6 years ago. Hanna was 20 years old, 2 years older than me. I slung my book bag over my shoulder and ran downstairs. "Bye." I said over my shoulder, heading outside. The moon was low in the sky when I jumped in my silver Porsche and turned the key. The engine roared to life and I pulled out of the driveway. The Porsche was my birthday present from Hanna on my 18th birthday, which happened to be today. The ride to my high school was short, 10 minutes tops. I was greeted by my best friend, Lilly, in front of the school. "Hey! Here is your present!" she yelled excitedly.
"I told you not to get me anything." I sighed, Lilly always got over-excited on days like these. "Too bad! Now open!" she insisted. I slowly unwrapped the small gift. Inside was a diamond necklace with a silver chain. "For the love of Jack, how much was this?!" I screeched. "Not too much, it was on sale and my dad gave me a discount." she exclaimed. Lilly's dad worked in a jewelry store, a very popular store. "Thank you so much!" I yelled, pulling her into a bear hug. "You're welcome, now let's go to homeroom before we have detention again." she laughed, we tended to be late for class a lot. We ran to homeroom with Mrs. Robinson. "Hello girls, I see you are on time today." Mrs. Robinson pointed out as we sat down in our chairs. For some reason, we were sat together even though we tended to talk.
Classes rolled on and finally lunch came around. Lilly gave me a quick hug and ran off to meet her boyfriend in the garden. I always ate lunch alone since Lilly had lunch with her boyfriend, Lucas. Walking over to my usual empty table, I noticed it wasn't empty anymore. There sat a green-eyed, shaggy black haired, scene god all alone. "Is this your seat?" he questioned, his voice was angelic and soft. "No, mine is next to yours by the window. Do you mind company?" I asked nervously. "Go ahead it's your seat." he chuckled. I sat down and looked him up and down. He was breathtaking. His light blue eyes scanned me, kind of. I turned and started eating my ham sandwich. "Can I have your name?" he laughed. "Samantha Nicole Anderson, but people call me Nicole." I exclaimed. "Gage River, you can just call me Gage." He did look like a Gage. "Is River your last name?" I asked curiously. "No, don't really have a last name. That's my middle name." he explained.
"So, who is that guy you were hanging around in the cafe today?" Lucas asked, holding Lilly's hand on the way to my house. We always spent the afternoon at my house since Hanna was at work. "His name is Gage." I said blankly. "Well, is there anything between you and him?" Lilly badgered. "Nope, we just sat together." I whispered, unlocking my front door. I barged into the house and went straight to the kitchen. The door slammed shut as Lilly and Lucas walked in. Lucas wasn't hot or anything but, he was cute with his dimples, brown skater hair, and piercing blue eyes. Plus he wasn't as cute as Gage. I needed to get him out of my head. Pulling out hot chocolate, Lilly screamed. "What?" I persisted, watching her. "Look out the window." she mumbled nervously. Outside, was the one and only Gage. "That's Gage." I sighed. "It is?" she stuttered. "Yep." I laughed. I slid open the back door and waved to Gage, sitting on our swing. "Hey! Hope I'm not interrupting anything." he called, running up to me. "Nope, how did you find out where I live?" I asked curiously. "'Cause I just moved in next door and saw you walk in here." he explained, pointing to the house on the right. "Ok, this is Lilly my best friend and her boyfriend, Lucas." I introduced.
We all went in for hot chocolate, since it was winter time. "So, where did you move from?" Lilly badgered, the look in her eye told me she was being protective. "I'm from New York." he stated. "You mean the city that has the drug dealers? Do you do drugs?" she asked quickly. "Lilly, Lilly. Calm yourself, he doesn't do drugs." I laughed. "Fine." she said stubbornly, crossing her arms.
Lucas chuckled and held Lilly close. "Let's go, ok?" Lucas suggested. Lilly nodded her head, gave me a hug, waved to Gage, and headed out the door hand in hand with Lucas. "So, how did you know I didn't do drugs?" Gage persisted. "I'd smell it on you if you did. My nose is sensitive to that type of stuff." I shrugged. "Ok, well how long have you lived here?" He took another sip of his cocoa. "Um, about 3 years." I guessed. "Cool." he murmured. It was pure silence for a few minutes as we finished our drinks. "So, what do you do for fun?" he asked, breaking the silence. "Write, read, music." I answered. "What do you write?" he looked at me from across the table. "Songs, stories, anything really." I blushed and looked away, I knew he was going to ask to see one. All of a sudden, a loud bang flew by and strong arms wrapped around me.
