Understanding Men

Understanding your man is not a difficult task. One should simply try to understand how men thing, and it will get easier.
Men, have a great grindstone to carry along. They have a reputation thrust onto them ever since the first human set foot on planet earth. Men, therefore, have to be superheroes, the gender that cannot fail, the gender that changes the world, the gender that makes things happen, the gender that protects and serves. Not all men necessarily are super-hero material, and therefore they hide the real man somewhere deep inside. This makes it all the more difficult for others to understand men.

Understanding men can be simple enough and it can be hard enough to be termed impossible. Though it's easy to understand men, if one is in a romantic relationship with a man and unable to understand him, there may be serious situations positioned to happen in the near future. Most differences in relationships come when the men act in a different behaviour as is perceived of them. Man's greatest enemy is the pedestal he has been put on by society, and the best way to reveal the true man, and therefore, understanding your man, is by making him understand that you understand the following things:

  1. Men do Cry, at all ages: The romantic notion that big and strong men don't cry is not true. Crying is nothing but an emotional vent for any hurt or even happiness inflicted. Men may not be as prone to crying as women are, but they do cry. This is one singular reason behind the negative portrayal of men. Traditionally, there is a fad that grown men do not cry. Therefore, men try to hide their emotions and are branded unthoughtful or insensitive.

  2. Men can lose the way: Men do not have a inbuilt GPS with them. They can lose the way, be that in a place they have been living in for twenty years, or at a place they have come on a vacation.

  3. Men want the best of the world: Men want the best there is in the world, not more so for themselves but for their families. This may and does result in long hours at work, unintended business meetings and the all the casual disappearance from family affairs and getogethers.

  4. The Boys Night Out: Boys nights out to men are as crucial to men as the visit to the vet is to pets. That is the time when they remember their carefree boyhood, those teenage years and finally, their family. Boy's night out can be anything from a cosy dinner at a friend's place to a rip-roaring trip in the city.

  5. Men do not forget anniversaries: Men do not forget anniversaries. It's just that they are tied up in other work and therefore cannot be at the right place at the right time. Forgetfulness is a weapon men use when they are cornered from all sides. It is quite akin to a student not doing his homework and putting the reason to 'I forgot' rather than 'I was too busy playing with action figures'.

  6. All Men are Kids: Women have their Barbies, men have their action figures. Men leave women up to their soap operas, women should leave them to their sports of entertainment sports days. Men of all ages and status play computer video games. All men will have at least one gaming console on which they will spend a major amount of time and money. There is no man who will not have a glint in his eye while buying the latest toy for his kid, wondering how he could play with it.

These are just some tips for understanding the way men think. Men in relationships are entirely different than men not in relationships. Some men may take that extra step to express their love, not that men are that good at expressing their love, but they do try.
