Under the Light Of a Full Moon - Chapter 5

Hey guys. So here is chapter 5. Read, enjoy and let me know what y'all think.
Colby's POV

UGH! I've spent all day thinking about two things. One was the rogues. I was nowhere near figuring out who they were. And that was mainly because of the second reason which is a white-haired beauty with sapphire blue eyes and the face of a goddess. I couldn't get her off my mind for nothing. I've been sitting in my office at the pack house ever since we got back from the hospital. Every time I tried thinking about the rogues, Sophie's face would pop in my head and I would spend an hour just thinking about her. And I couldn't ask Tyler for help with this stuff since he was out with his family aka Sophie. Come to think of it, I never knew Tyler had a sister. Actually I didn't know much about him at all. He never talked about himself. I remember the first time I met Tyler. It was twenty-five years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday.

**Flashback**

"I can't believe that bitch did that to me. TO ME. The Marrok of the U.S." If she wanted to cheat on me with my beta then that's fine. She was nothing but a whore anyway. But now I needed to find a new beta. I was so angry I ended up just walking home to blow off some steam. Somehow I ended up in the woods. Oh well the woods don't scare me. I own the woods. I decided to go ahead and shift since I was already here. I concentrated on changing my form. I let the change roll over my body and enjoyed the feel of it. The feeling of becoming free and renewed life. It was the best high anyone could get. Too bad not everyone can feel it. The change finishes as soon as it starts. Books and people who believe the change would be painful is wrong. It's fast and painless. Each werewolf is a different size depending on your status. Since I'm an alpha I'm bigger than all other wolves besides other alphas. My wolf form is around 8ft on all fours.

My wolf coat is a red and blonde color. My eyes were a brighter green then they usually are. I felt strong and powerful which was true. I left my wolf senses take over and started running. I didn't let my wolf take over my mind however, because that never ends up well. I ran further into the woods. I ran for about five minutes until I reached a clearing. I listened but heard nothing. Quiet. I smelled some deer about 100 yards away and was about to go hunt them but I smelled another wolf heading my way. I knew instantly that it was a werewolf like me by the way it smelled. Normal wolves smelled more of nature. While us werewolves had a unique scent that only our mates could smell but we had other scents too. I stood my ground and waited. Finally the wolf came into the clearing. When it saw me it came to a stop. Its fur was a midnight black with a small crescent moon on its forehead. Its eyes were a piercing arctic ice blue. The power emanating off him screamed alpha and dominance.

"Who are you?" He asked me and threw the mind link. All werewolves share a link since we are all connected to the alpha of us all or as we call him the King of Wolves. I've never had the chance to meet him before but I had heard that he was one wolf that you do not want to meet. But the link only works with the wolves around you or if you're an alpha it works with your top circle like your beta and third and fourth commands. So I couldn't talk mind to mind with some random wolf I don't know 200 miles away. "I am Alpha Colby Stephens. Marrok of the U.S. Who are you?" I reply. "I am Tyler." "Well do you have a last name Tyler? And what pack are you from?" I ask. This dude is strange I thought to myself. "My last name is none of your concern and I have no pack. I just came here from Europe." He smirked. "You better watch your mouth when you are in my presence you insolent mutt!"

"A mutt am I?" He smirked again. He made a funny look on his face as if he was silently saying "Are you serious? Is that the best you can do?" I crouched down lower and raised my hackles and snarled at him. My wolf was wanting to rip him apart for disrespecting us in such a manner. "If you're going to attack me then just attack already. I don't have all day to wait." He said as he crouched down preparing for an attack. I lunged at him. He quickly moved out-of-the-way and managed to grab a hold of my back left paw with his teeth. He tightened his hold and threw me into a tree 50 yards away. I just laid there stunned. I couldn't believe he managed to throw me that far with just his teeth. I quickly shook off the shock and just laid there waiting. He ran over to me and started to go for my throat. "Gotcha," I thought to myself as I lunged at him, going for his throat but he quickly dodged again. But this time I managed to grab a hold of his back paw just as he turned. I shook my head and threw him into a nearby tree. Not as far as he threw me but still. He got up after only being on the ground for a few seconds and snarled at me.

He ran at me and went for my throat again but this time I was prepared. I quickly dodged his snapping teeth and clamped my own teeth around his neck. I put my full weight into pinning him and holding him down till he submitted. Each time he struggled I bit down harder, drawing blood. The rusty taste was disgusting but I wasn't letting this dude go for nothing. After about ten minutes he finally gave up. His whole body relaxed and sagged in my mouth. I let him go and shifted. As a werewolf, nudity was second nature because when you shift back to human form, your clothes are gone. Half the time they are ripped off you when you change. After the first few times, you get used to it and it no longer bothers you. He shifted back as well. He was about 6'3 and 250 lbs of pure muscle. He had black shaggy hair and crystal blue eyes. Even in human form, his stance and the power emanating off him screamed dominance. I knew I had gotten lucky beating him. But still, a win is a win and that's all that counts in a battle between two alphas. A sudden idea popped in my head.

"I want you to be my Beta." I told him. I could tell this took him by surprise because the look on his face was just priceless. "Umm why?" He asked. I could tell the shock still hadn't worn off yet. "Because by far you are the best fighter I have come across and I recognize I got lucky today. Besides, I've been looking for a new one and you seem like the perfect one." He was silent for five minutes before he answered. "Alright, I'll do it. But just a little heads up, you're alpha voice won't work on me. And one more thing, don't ask about my past or about why I left my pack. Got it?"

"Yeah, ok. We'll, let's head to the pack house and get you introduced to everyone." I said. I could respect his wishes for me not to ask simply because we all have our secrets that we want to keep secrets, even me. Still, it makes me wonder why his alpha voice won't work on me. I guess if he wants me to know then he'll tell me but until then I won't say a thing. Because I know for a fact, this is one guy I need on my side. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. Even my wolf senses it.

**Flashback Over**

Even to this day he hasn't told me about his past. But I promised I wouldn't push and I haven't. Knock knock. Who the hell is banging on my door at 11 at night? I get up and answer the door. I opened my office door and there stood Derek, the trainer for all the warriors.

"Derek? What's wrong?" I ask. I knew it had to be bad if he was up here, this late. Yeah I know you are probably thinking 11 isn't too late but when I spend all day working by 11 I'm tired and don't want to be disturbed and the pack knows it. "Sir, Lucas was brought in about five minutes ago. He was attacked by rouges while patrolling the southern part of the city. He's severely injured." He told me.

"Shit! Not again!" I said slamming my fist onto my desk. "These damn rouges are dead when I find them. Not only do they attack innocent humans, but my men! The King is not going to be happy about this when he finds out tomorrow night. Derek, take Sam, Ed, Trey and Will with you and start hunting these bastards down." I ordered him. He replied with a simple nod and left quickly. I made my way to the infirmary to check on Luke. He might have caught a glimpse of the rogues. These bastards better pray that I'm not the one to find them.
