Unbreakable Outdoor Dinnerware

Dinnerware is an important part of our lifestyle. We use crockery and cutlery daily, not only at home but for all our outdoor activities, and even while traveling. Types of Unbreakable Dinnerware

Melamine Dinnerware: Melamine is made up of an organic base and a chemical compound cyanamide. When it is mixed with resins, it develops fire-retardant properties. Melamine has many industrial uses, but is mostly known for dinnerware. Dinnerware made of melamine is stable and inert in nature. It should never be used directly on a stove nor in a microwave or an electric oven. Melamine breaks down under heating, and its resin decomposes and releases toxins which are known to cause health problems. Melamine is easy to store, carry and clean.

Plastic Dinnerware: The word plastic is said to have originated from the Greek word plastiko, which means fit for molding. Plastics are made of synthetic polymers of high molecular weight, and have wide industrial uses. Plastic dinnerware is light, strong, durable, and disposable as well as reusable. It is inexpensive, and comes in a wide range to suit everyone's requirements. Like melamine, it is advisable never to heat any plastic dinnerware on stove or use in a microwave.

Enamel Dinnerware: Enamel is specific glass-coating material called porcelain enamel, and is used to coat steel or aluminum. The coating is applied through fusion and is done to make the cookware and dinnerware more corrosion and heat resistant. The only way it can develop cracks, is when it is dropped from a height. This disadvantage is completely outweighed by its attractive look, durability and easy maintenance. One of the best reasons to use enamelware is that you can cook and serve in the same dish.

Polycarbonate Dinnerware: Polycarbonate is a very tough plastic used for a variety of applications, including making dinnerware. Polycarbonate scores over all other plastics as it is very strong, durable and lightweight. It is sometimes also referred to as the 'king of plastics'. One of the reasons why it is used for outdoor events, is that its glass-like appearance gives it a very fragile as well as a chic and elegant look. It is virtually unbreakable, light to carry and easy to store.

Thermocol and Paper Dinnerware: Thermocol and paper dinnerware are widely used as disposable items. However, they are only available in the form of plates and bowls, and not spoons and forks. They usually come in white color, are inexpensive and generally used for children's parties.
