Unbeating Hearts - Chapter 1 Book 1

Chapter One - Here they come.

My name is Ebony Hart, today is the first day of eleventh grade. I am a little anxious only because it will be my last year at Yendelle High School. I waited for the bus and as it pulled up my friend rose waved to me. I got on and sat right next to her.

"So It's our last year and we are off to college. I am definitely going to Harvard, do you know where you are going?" Rose said.

Rose Cemelle my friend since preschool, always wanted to go to harvard since we were in third grade. She always plans ahead so she knows she's ready for the future.

"No. I may not even go to college I am thinking of just becoming an artist and maybe runaway with C.J."

C.J, Casper Jannhole, The one I fell in love within seventh grade, we have been together since then. We always talk about dropping out of school and running away to become artists. Some say it seems crazy and I would be making a bad decision because soon he will leave me because I don't have "It." Well I have what I have what I have, Blond naturally straight, Hazel gray and green eyes, I'm not flat chested and I have braces and freckles. It's not much but it's what I got, and it's all I need, if C.J only wanted "It" girls he would've dumped me long ago.

"But why? You don't know if he may leave you or not. Maybe he could leave you for Janyce or Elaine, Eb you don't know." She continued making me loose my train f thought.

"He would have left me a long time ago then." I said smirking, because she knew I was right.

She nodded. The bus came to a harsh stop at a stop I had never seen. The most beautiful people came out of the house and onto the bus. Two boys, one with shaggy dirty blond hair and non-ordinary eyes that were a hint of black and yellow the other had all white eyes except the pupil his hair was brown and spikey, but just not your regular spikes. The three girls got on and they were definitely the "It." They had gorgeous skin that was perfect no wrinkles no freckles no zits or anything one of them looked spunky and preppy, just another thing we needed at this school, she had brown hair that was really curly and bounced and shined as she walked she had yellow eyes like the first boy I saw, the other girl had black eyes and her hair was black too, and the last girl looked like an old doll you would be scared of as a child, red beaming eyes with a tint of orange her hair was a black that sort of went over her face a little and as she walked to the back I saw the purple glow out of her hair. I was amazed her parents would even allow that. I looked back at Rose who was stunned.

"Who are they?" She muttered.

"Maybe the new kids." I replied.

"they are so gorgeous, so beautiful, so magnificent!"

I nodded. I looked back to were they wore and they glared up at me and the first boy that i saw come into the bus looked at me if I were some kind of rodent or something he never seen before. I looked away and grunted. Rose ignored me. As the bus came to another harsh stop at the school the new kids were the first off. Rose and I were the last as always. I wanted to know why he looked at me in that arrogant way. I looked all over for him so I could ask him but I couldn't find him when I bumped into the perky one.

"Hello! I'm new here would you mind showing me around?" She sweetly asked in a whisper.

"Uh, sure why not." I harshly replied.

"No that's okay I can ask someone else."

"Then why did you ask me?"

"Never mind darling I have to get to class"

"But the first bell hasn't even rung and you just asked me if I could show you around. I am confused."

"Fine, where is class... 102?"

"I'll show you." I said a little bit more nicer this time.

"Okay."

after a few silent minutes....

"I am Luner. You are?"

"That's a very unique name... I'm Ebony."

"That's a pretty name. Well thanks for showing my around sweetheart. I will see you after school. Do you take the bus?"

"Yes."

"Well sit next to me." She grinned and was gone in a flash.

How did she do that? The first bell rand and I ran to my first class but I couldn't find it. Then the second bell rand and Dr. Kano gave me a late slip. I walked to room 901, History, my worst subject.

"Do you have a late slip missy?" The teacher asked.

I handed him my late slip.

"Now take a seat next to Tuesday Ebony. And make sure you are not late again."

I realized Tuesday was the one who looked and me in the arrogant way. I sat next to him. Tuesday? What kind of name is that? he looked at me then bit his lip and gave me the same look. I made my hair cover my face so he wouldn't see me. He was a beautiful boy but was arrogant. The history teacher, Mr. Oliver was already assigning a project that was due in three weeks and we couldn't choose our partners or choose if we wanted one or not. He assigned partners. I was pretty ticked off when he said I was partnered with Tuesday. Rose was partnered with the other boy his name was Stone, another weird name do all the new kids have weird names? So far all i knew was Luner, Tuesday, and Stone. I wonder what the others names are. the week went by as a drag C.J is in none of my classes and I hear he has been hanging out with Janyce maybe Rose was right maybe I shouldn't drop out of school just for some boy who actually may end up leaving me for Janyce. When the weekend came Tuesday called me.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hi, it's me Tuesday." He breathed into the phone in a whisper.

"Hi Tuesday." I said arrogantly.

"Would you like to get together for the project tonight?"

Like I wanted to but if it was for the project whatever.

"Sure. My house or yours."

"Yours, you wouldn't like my house. So tonight your house see you then."

He didn't even know where I lived but he hung up not even bothering to ask. maybe he was a stalker? A creep of some sort. I hung up the phone and freaked.
