UK dogging "craze" is growing

A few years ago British mass media reported new dogging "craze" in the UK. The term "dogging" describes sex in semi-public places at a high risk of being witnessed. Since those days the number of people who are into dogging has been constantly growing. The naughty fun outdoors has affected all the UK counties. Almost 60% of UK car parks today are used by sexually liberated adults for meetings after dark. This article provides an overview of UK dogging phenomenon.

When speaking about growth of UK dogging popularity we can hardly underestimate the impact of modern technologies such as Bluetooth, cell phones and the Internet. Most of contacts between strangers looking for sex in public locations are arranged online via the Internet sites. One can simply register and use a site services – for example, use dogging chat rooms, search system, view doggers profiles and sex ads, use forum, view dogging photos and videos - to find other dogging personals in their area. Many of the features mentioned are offered for free on dogging sites. A list of UK dogging locations can be simply found there as well.

One dogging online community may have thousands members. Newcomers are likely to be attracted by video clips, movies and photos from dogging parties which are constantly uploaded by the participants. Cell phones and Bluetooth are often used to confirm identities at meetings.

Almost every day British newspapers report new issues that arise in connection with UK public sex "craze".
A big stir was caused in British mass media by Stan Claymore’s (football player) confession that he attended dogging events and had sex with strangers there. The confession was made after he was caught at a car park in a few miles from his house in Cannock, Staffordshire. "I've been to dogging sites maybe a dozen to 15 times – Collymore said – and, yes, I have taken part and had sex." Later Stan said: "What I have done is disgusting and I’m so ashamed, but I am only human — I can only beg for forgiveness. My only hope is that the people I know and love can find it in their hearts to forgive me." Collymore depicted "dogging" as a very addictive experience.

Personal safety and STDs are important issues that mass media bring up when speaking about UK dogging. At first, doggers had a strict etiquette regulating the behavior of individuals at a dogging event. Unfortunately now it often gets broken. Car park sex fans’ incorrect approach may cause intimidation to other couples in cars who are not into dogging.

As dogging involves sex with many partners who you may see for the first time a risk to catch STDs highly increases. A range of UK health organizations admit that the "car park sex" may be partially responsible for rises of chlamydia, HIV, syphilis and hepatitis. "Always use condoms" is a piece of advice number one on all sites related to dogging parties. According to the UK dogging etiquette a nice idea would be to bring some extra condoms that may be shared with other participants.

Britains’ love for public sex seems to have resulted in a significant problem for local authorities. Though sex outdoors is not illegal by itself it may be considered as a "criminal behavior" in some occasions. While you are being watched during intercourse by a willing person everything is fine. Problems may arise if a third party sees you having sex in a public place because they may report the matter as something that has caused them "distress, alarm or offence". Thus UK dogging is a risky fun. However may be this risk just adds a spark to dogging sessions and makes the participants look for a repetition of the experience.

As doggers are now subject to persecution by police some of them are slowly moving into "open swinging" i.e. swinging in the same room with other couples having sex.
