Chapter 1
Becky sighed in frustration as she tried unsuccessful to get a cab. She'd been standing on that spot for a good thirty minutes and yet she'd not been able to hail a cab. Whenever she saw one approach, she would scream:"taxi!" with all her might, only to discover it was carrying a passenger or worse still, it would just zoom off as if she were invincible. Were the cab people on strike or something? She'd taken leave off work earlier today, so she could care for he sister Hannah who was ill. So she'd gone over to the grocer's to get some food supplies. Getting to the grocery store had not been a problem but now that she had her hands full with food stuffs, she couldn't get home. So lost was she in her thoughts and self pity, that she did not notice on time, that a car had pulled up in front of her and that the driver was calling out to her. By the time she did notice, the driver was already out and was approaching her. She stared at him in barely concealed annoyance. He was a dashing six foot plus with a face that would make Will Smith envious. He walked towards her with this confident swagger that only annoyed her more. The guy was drop dead gorgeous and Heaven help ladies, He knew it!
