Types of Exercise

Ever thought about the different types of exercise? If you think that the various types of exercises that you perform in the gym are the only ones to know, you're wrong. There is a vast range of physical and mental exercises that help you in achieving total body and mind fitness.
Fitness is the new rage among people. Technology has made a lot of positive changes in lives but has also introduced a new breed of health conditions which are really tough to diagnose. Not everyone can afford expensive treatment so the best way to avoid such harmful diseases and disorders is to have a balanced diet and a fitness regime which ensures boosting your fitness levels. Having a proper workout everyday ensures a healthy immune system. To achieve that it's necessary that you have the basic knowledge about the types of exercise.

Various Types of Exercise

Types of exercise can be categorized into three different types; aerobic, strength training and flexibility exercises. Now all types of exercises have different effects on our body. A certain type of exercise improves flexibility and increases muscle strength. Other exercises mainly involve working the biceps and other large muscles in the body. While some increase endurance. Now most of us will ask which type of exercise suits my body? The right answer is a combination of all three types to achieve complete fitness.

Aerobic Exercises
Aerobic exercise basically focus on increasing your cardio strength. When you participate in any type of cardio exercise or aerobic exercise session, your muscles and heart become more active which stimulates more blood flow to your heart. Aerobic workouts make you sweat more because of the various movements involved in it. They give a total body workout and increase your heart's ability to pump more blood even when you're taking a breather. Regular aerobic exercises are the best and the most easiest way to burn more calories and reduce body weight. They also reduce fat percentage and increase the proportion of your muscles. Health experts recommend at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise daily, but you don't have to do one exercise for 30 minutes. You can include 3 exercises in this 30 minute program, 1 exercise for 10 minutes. Start with some stretching exercises and then you can go running and jogging, swimming, or for a brisk walk.

Strength Training Exercises
Strength training exercises and aerobic exercises go hand in hand. In strength training you build up your muscles using free weights or weight machines. Adding some push ups or pull ups to your exercise routine ensures you build up good resistance. You don't need to join a health club to perform strength training exercises, just buy a pair of inexpensive hand-weights and start pumping. If you need some help on the various strength training routines, you can search online and watch the various health related programs. Men and women also seek various anabolic bodybuilding supplements for more mass gain. They are always recommended but also take advice from your doctor or a health expert before including them in your diet.

Flexibility Exercises
As you age, your ability to increase your muscles effortlessly diminishes. Unless and until your muscles don't get their daily workout, they become flabby and lose their strength. As it becomes difficult to move, you become stiff and more lazy. Such casual behavior can threaten your daily ability to perform important tasks. So it's very necessary that you indulge in some flexibility exercises to make sure your muscles can be stretched and are movable. According to me the best way to ensure total flexibility of the body is practicing yoga regularly. If you think yoga is not your cup of tea then you can enroll yourself in various dance programs to stretch your muscles to the core.
