Ty Pennington Arrested
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition host Ty Pennington was arrested over the weekend in Los Angeles on alleged drunk driving charges.

Pennington was arrested at approximately 12:35 a.m. Saturday after being stopped by police in Los Angeles. He was booked on a misdemeanor and posted $5,000 bail. He was released at approximately 2:50 a.m. Pennington is expected to appear in court on June 4 on the drunk driving charges.
He has since apologized saying in a statement, "I made an error in judgment. We all make mistakes; however, this is about accountability. Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving. I could have jeopardized the lives of others and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone. This was my wake-up call. I also want to apologize to my fans, ABC Television and my design team for my lapse in judgment and the embarrassment I have caused."
Pennington is the host of the Emmy award-winning show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. He is a carpenter and a former model and appeared on TLC's hit show Trading Spaces for four years before making the leap to hosting his own show and leading a team of designers. He is also the author of Ty's Tricks: Home Repair Secrets Plus Cheap and Easy Projects to Transform Any Room, a do-it-yourself guide to home improvement. He has also leant his name to the Ty Pennington Style line of bedding, tabletop items, and bath accessories for Sears. In 2002, Pennington was named one of People's top 50 Bachelors and in 2006 was named on of the Sexiest Southern Men in CMT's "20 Sexiest Southern Men" countdown.
