They are two friends. Nothing more, really. When others connive, unknowingly.
And that was probably why she always turned to Phoenix when she felt the going got tough. He never pried but always tried to help in what way he could.

"Invite her over for dinner, we'll try to fill her tummy with a home cooked meal," she overheard a muffled voice say on the other line.
"Hey Georgia, do you want to come over for dinner tonight? A home cooked meal could do you some good instead of ham and eggs..." he offered.

Reluctantly she agreed. Anywhere was better than here, she figured.

Boy, was she dead wrong.
