Two Little Sparrows

Two little sparrows make me realize that love is on its way. Your comments are welcome.
I am sitting here alone, thinking about the journey of my life so far. Wondering why I am still waiting for my soul mate to arrive.

As I ponder this thought, the Universe once again works its little spell of magic. My eyes are open to the signs.

I am on holidays, sitting by the bay, enjoying desert, when a tiny little sparrow decides to join me. He swoops down and lands on my table. Amused and slightly surprised I laugh. Out of curiosity I place a few crumbs at the end of my table to see how he will react.

This delicate little creature calmly hops over, confident in his march. He pecks at my crumbs, and flies away. I am mesmerized by his swiftness and his soft delicate features. His exit is as sharp as his arrival. His journey intrigues me. He is welcomed back home, to a tree, directly opposite where I am spending my afternoon.

It seems that he is the provider, who has a soul partner waiting for him. But this is not so. They are providing for each other. It is now her turn. She glides down to my table, and confidently dances the march of survival, to the remaining crumbs of my cake.

In turn, they visit me a few times. It may be a special day for them. They are spoiling each other with chocolate cake that I have left uneaten. It is my birthday. Could it be their anniversary? Who knows?

How delightful. Purely divine. Truly, as heaven intended. Little kisses, tiny pecks, feeding each other. Selfless.

This is their story of survival. Traveling the world, in search of shelter and food. Surrendering to the unknown, but facing it together. Partners who are never apart in flight and prayer. Lovers for life. Instinctively knowing, as gods little creatures, that there will always be enough food to go around. They just need to be patient, and it will miraculously be there for them to peck at.

My search is for love.
They have love. I smile and feel the love that they share. The Universe has shown me that it is truly possible. The two little sparrows are a sign of what is to come. Love will fly into my arms, as effortlessly as the little sparrows fly to each other.

I will wait patiently for my love to arrive. And on my next birthday, the two little sparrows will watch as we feed each other chocolate cake, smiling, patiently waiting for their crumbs.
