Two Degrees of Separation Chapter 14

ZAC'S P.O.V

'WHERE IS SHE?' Connor screams at me.

'I don't know.'

'This is all your fault.'

Now I know that is not true. 'No it's not, Connor! Can't you understand that? I love your sister and I'm not even sorry for doing so. Why is loving her such a crime in your eyes?'

Connor comes right up close next to my face and says 'My little sister is missing and I don't care how you feel for her but I need to find her.'

'My girlfriend is missing too, Connor.'

Connor looks at me and says 'She is not your girlfriend. I can't believe you would use her like that. She's special Zac. She's not like anyone else.'

'Connor, listen to me, I love Giselle. I really love her and at the moment I don't care how you feel about me but we need to find her.'

We look at each other, then Connor says bravely 'Let's truce to find Gigi ok? Nothing else, but we need to find her.

I nod 'I agree.' Don't worry sweetie, I'm coming to find you.

'Where would she be?' Connor asks me still standing outside her house, dialing up her phone and calling anyone who would know where she would be.

'I don't know.' Then, it hits me. 'Wait, she could go to her favorite place; your tree at Greenwich park.'

'Genius! Mom, she'll be at the tree. I'll drive.'

I watch him get in his car and he says 'Are you getting in or what?'I look at him and he nods with a small smile. 'If she's there, she's probably hoping you're going to be there.'

'Thank you, Con.'

On the way over to Greenwich park, Connor asks me 'Do you really love her?'

I look over to Connor and nod 'Connor, I really love her. I love her so much, but if you can't accept that then I don't know what I'd do.'

'Do you promise me you love her and did not just use her for sex?'

'I promise you.'

He continues to drive on silently then he adds 'I hope she's ok, Zac. I don't know what I'd do if she...'

'We'll find her.'

He shakes his head 'I haven't been to the tree in years. How did you know this is Gigi's favorite place?'

'She took me there; because it means so much to her.' I don't add that we nearly made out under it, but I see Connor smile as he realizes that Giselle never wanted to replace him with me, but only wanted to add me next to her favorite man in the world.

GISELLE'S P.O.V

Joe lets go of me as I sit down on this grotty sofa and I swear my jeans do not deserve this. 'Why am I here?' I ask him.

He looks at me with his eerie eyes and says 'I love you, Giselle.'

'Really.' I say nearing giggles.

Then, out of nowhere, he's up in front of me and says 'I really love you, Giselle.'

'Oh Joe, seriously, I have had a bad couple of days so I really don't need this right now.' I try to stand up, but he grabs my forearm. I'm going to be covered in bruises by the end of this.

'LET GO OF ME!' I yell in his face.

'No chance. I want you, Giselle. I need you.'

'No you don't.'

'I do.'

'Joe-'

He pulls me closer and I can smell the scent of alcohol in his breath as stares into my eyes 'Come on.' He takes my arm forcefully and leads me down the hallway. Oh no. Please no.

'WHAT ARE YOU DOING!'

'I'm going to make love to you.'

'NO! NO NO NO NO! LET GO OF ME!' I scream as I start to lash out, kicking backwards as he drags me into the bedroom.
