Two Degrees of Separation Chapter 1
New story from the author of "Isla's Guys". How times have changed. Giselle Hill's older brother Connor is back from Uni and he's brought back his best friend Zac. with him. I think Giselle is in for a little surprise! Please comment! Hope you like...

So I jump in my car (which is falling apart) with my mom and drive off to the train station. I haven't seen Connor for a good few months since his last visit, but he's coming back for the summer now. It's June and he's finished his studies for a few months so is coming back home-probably because he misses his sister! Ahh, no. Only because he'd look like a bit of a loner on campus alone.
Connor is also bringing his friend back with him, Zac Garland. They've been friends since they were 5. Zac moved away when he was 13, but they remained in contact and then went to the same Uni together. From what I remember of Zac, he was a scrawny weirdo like my brother. He was quite sweet though, always smiling, but I kind of despised any friend of my brothers.
So I'm singing along to some new random song on Capital and pull up at the station half an hour later. My mom is so desperate to see Connor and Zac too, that she jumps out of the car and runs onto the platform. I do not know that lady.
'What's the time Giselle?' She asks me.
'I don't know.' And frankly I don't care. I sit down on the metal bench and wait for their train to pull in. 'How long is Zac going to stay with us for?'
'As long as he wants to. You know how it is with his family and all that.'
'No, what...' Then the stupid train pulls in, just when I was going to find out some juicy gossip! My mom stands up all excited as we wait for the train doors to open. When they do, we try and spot them. Then I see my mom run off to the left into Connor's arms. I walk towards them then see this tall, tanned GORGEOUS guy dragging some bags behind him. Now THAT is my sort of guy. A gentle curl to his deep chocolaty hair and those eyes! Emerald green dazzling eyes, which catch mine. I smile flirtatiously and he winks at me. AHAHA! Score for Giselle! I walk over to him, purposely swaying my hips side to side, when Connor says 'Giselle, you remember Zac, don't you?'
Are you having a laugh? You've got to be kidding me! Both of our jaws drop, but before I can think what shouldn't be thought, Connor hugs me and says 'Believe it or not, I've missed you Gigi.'
'As have I.' I try to say convincingly.
My mom kisses Zac's cheek and says 'You're looking well, love.' Well? He looks bloody fantastic! And his sense of style-well he really doesn't belong from around here. He is so stylish and well put together, yet not too done up. His shorts are half way down his arse revealing some bright blue boxers and a plain white T-shirt with a large amount of wristbands and bracelets on his wrist. Stop this Giselle! This is Zac! So what if he's hot, I am not that shallow and shouldn't be feeling this way for my brother's best friend.
'Come on slow coaches, I'd like to get back sooner rather than later.' I say hurrying up my dawdling family. We eventually make it back after a non-stop yabbering from my mother to Connor. I felt so bad for Zac. Why would he put up with this when he could be back at home with his own family? Why suffer the burden of mine?
Back at home, I really can't believe that Zac has changed that much. I mean, there is change and there is CHANGE! I feel the need to be brutally honest and playfully say 'What happened to you Zac? Ugly duckling no more, hey!'
He looks up from his sandwich and smiles. Blimey that smile could tear an army down. 'Likewise with you, Giselle.'
Connor joins us at the table and says to Zac 'I'm thinking we should hit the town later on, what do you say?'
'I'm there.'
'Can I come too?' I ask.
'You're 17. No.'
'Oh come one, I look older.'
'No.'
'Why not?'
'Because-'
'You want to go and shag some girl and don't want me cramping your style.' Connor grins as he is terribly immature and still finds sex funny.
'Maybe.'
'So I'm taking it you're not taken then Con?'
'Yeah, no girl owns me. Come on Zac, let's go and meet a couple of people in town. I'll see you later, maybe. Bye mom.' He yells out. Connor and Zac then leave and I can't help but think back to earlier on when I first saw Zac. Honestly, when did Zac get so gorgeous! I feel like I could be in for a very awkward month or two ahead...
