'Twilight' Sequel Predicted Biggest Opening

New Moon, the sequel to the vampire movie Twilight expected to gross highest earnings with its opening on Friday.
Film experts have predicted that 'New Moon' the sequel to the teenage vampire movie to get the biggest opening weekends ever for a non-summer film. It is thought to earn nearly $100 million with its opening in the UK and US cinemas on Friday.

The movie sketches a story about the romance between high school student Bella Swan played by Kristen Stewart and vampire Edward Cullen played by Robert Pattinson and her friendship with Jacob black played by actor Taylor Lauter.

The movie is an adaptation of the series of book authored by American writer Stephenie Meyer. The books have sold over 85 million copies till date and are translated into more than 20 languages. Last year, Twilight grossed over $383 million worldwide, a little ahead of the Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire.

Paul Degarabedian from the box office division has said, "I have huge expectations for the movie" . He further added, "I'm not going to say it's going to exceed it, but a $100 million opening weekend, I think, is totally on the cards for this one."

The current record of highest opening earnings is by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that grossed $ 102 million in 2005.
