Wireless Connection from TV to Computer
Now we all know that there are no wireless televisions in market. At least, I haven't heard about them. What I mean here is to avoid using cables for the job. It will save you a lot of extra clutter in the house and hence, provide you with some peace of mind.
Step #1: You need to purchase a wireless connection adapter available for your TV. You can purchase any of the commercially available connection adapters you prefer. The adapter will allow your TV to connect with the computer through a wireless connection.
Step #2: Insert the H-Cable, which is red in color on the connector. This will go in the wireless adapter, which in fact is also red in color. Next, insert the blue H-Cable inside the CRT (your television port which is on the rear of the computer). Now, connect the audio cable, where it says Audio In, to the wireless adapter.
Step #3: You will see there is a free end of the audio cable. Insert it to the Speaker Out port which is on the sound card of the computer. Once these connections are complete, you can connect the power cable of the wireless adapter. Insert the audio visual cable inside the adapter receiver and then inside the VGA cable ports.
Step #4: At the last step, you will connect the wireless adapter with the power cable and turn the TV on. Next turn on the wireless receiver and transmitter and then your computer.
How to Record from TV to Computer?
Another way to enjoy watching television is to stream TV to laptop. You can use your computer as a DVR or TiVo unit and record you favorite shows. This habit not only saves you money (as you don't have to purchase a DVD of those shows), but also gives you time to do other things than sitting in front of the TV. Here are specific steps on how to record TV to the computer.
Step #1: You need to purchase and install a TV capture card in your computer using the PCI slot. You can go through the manual available with the TV capture card and understand how to install it correctly. You will have to turn your computer off, remove the case, and unscrew the metal cover which at the back of the computer. Now snap the card inside the available PCI slot, screw the metal cover back on, and turn on the computer.
Step #2: Any other software that comes with the TV capture card has to be installed as well. For this, insert the setup disc inside the drive and let it run through the initial set-up process. If it doesn't start on its own, double click on the drive to begin the set-up process.
Step #3: Now, you will have to connect the coaxial cable to the new TV capture card. When you do this, it will let the card pick the cable channels properly. Without connecting the coaxial cable, the computer won't be able to record anything on the TV.
Step #4: Next step will be to open the software which controls the TV capture card. Let it find the cable channels after you have connected the co-axial cable. You might have to hit a button physically in the software application for it to search the channels.
Step #5: Search for the record button on your TV capture card software. Along with the record button, there should be an option for scheduling or selecting your favorite shows. Use the video editing software which will remove the commercials from the shows. Then, use any DVD recorder software to compile all the recorded videos onto a DVD.
