Turkey’s Critical Choices. Part II. The Identity Option

Internal reasons are relevant to the fossilization of the Spirit of Kemal Ataturk’s ideology and changes. When the quintessence of an ideological system is translated to unimportant prescriptions of daily political practice, the strength of the ideas is lost, the political regime is therefore weakened from inside as it hinges mostly on ritual and not on belief.
The academic, political, intellectual, economic, administrative and military elite for long did not perceive the aforementioned situation as threat; as it came out, the rejection came from those who in the name of rejection of practices attempt to discredit ideas, ideals, and principles. And because of the ideological fossilization, few remained ideologically strong to confront and refute the ignorance of the reactionary lunatics who around Erdogan attempt through all sorts of immoral practices, political blackmailing and social terrorism to impose their pseudo-Islamic paranoia.
Modern, bogus-Islam: a Western injection of contamination
The weakness of the ideologically fossilized elite is such that, while correctly refuting the hideous ignorance and the uncivilized darkness promoted by the Erdogan circles, they fail to unveil that the Islamist’s false Islam is not an emanation of the Islamic World but does consist in a purely Western fabrication, a contamination injection that was produced in the criminal freemasonic laboratories of France, whereby filthy and trashy students were formed and exported as bacillus to illegally detached or annexed territories of the Ottoman Empire.
All sorts of pseudo-ideologists, bogus-theoreticians and besotted students transformed to unconscious agents of social discord, educational darkness, cultural lewdness, the likes of Gamal eddin Afghani, Sayyid Qutb, Hassan al Banna, are pure products of Western machinations and Freemasonic conspiracies against the Ottoman Empire and Islam, the only possible senior representative of which was the Sultan.
Yet, it would be very easy for the secular nationalists, conservatives, and social-democrats of Turkey to discredit the Erdogan gang of agents by precisely depicting in contrast how Kemal Ataturk and the aforementioned mean, besotted and bestial Islamists influenced their countries respectively.
Kemal Ataturk, by westernizing his country, and by applying in Turkey the norms of the technologically and scientifically advanced countries, took absolute control of the natural resources, police, army, administration and education, eliminating even the physical presence of foreigners in most of Turkey’s provinces and forming a cohesively educated people with higher manners, behavioural system, culture and education.
Kemal Ataturk established a powerful state that reproduces healthily proud and intellectually – educationally – culturally independent citizens who cannot be manipulated and maneuvered by foreigners. The Turks are devoid of the severe psychological complexes that have absolutely corrupted the execrable, filthy, debased and cannibalistic masses of the co-called Arabic speaking realms of Total Barbary.
Without Ataturk, the ‘Arabic speaking’ periphery got denigrated and bestialized
Quite contrarily to them, the denigrated and illiterate masses of the gallabiyah dressed, materialistic, egotistic haters of the World envy the Western superiority, know very well their miserable inferiority, and they secretively want to rob the technological advances of the West in order to enslave their masters.
These uncultured and uneducated humanoids of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya and other useless countries speak sorts of dialect that they think it has much to do with Classical Arabic (which is absolutely dead as language), whereas with their maximum 1000 words vocabulary they represent the most vulgar form of existence on earth. Ignorant, pathetic, and idiotic are made under determinant Western impact; they are prefabricated in a way to hate their masters, to feel as psychological wreckage while serving them, and then to derive to unexpressed hysteria against the West, Christianity, the Secular and Civilized world that they believe as reason of their misery – the unlimited extent of which they are absolutely unable to conceive.
These are the filthy realms of the Qutbists and Bannists where religious paranoids and spiritual cannibals rule through political proxies whose role is to appease the West. They are unable to imagine – let alone understand – the complex and sophisticated procedure through which, although hating and rejecting their masters, they serve them in the best, prearranged by their masters, way.
This is the reality hidden behind Muslim countries whereby the population hates and rejects the West, but the governments cooperate, befriend and ally with Europe and America. In reality, these countries’ religious leaders impose the form of Islam that suits best the interest of the Freemasonic lodge that plotted in order to avenge their freemasonic forefathers’ expulsion from the Middle East – with focus on Jerusalem – at the end of the Crusades.
This was precisely Ataturk’s supreme success; he preserved the territory he could, and turned it to a Western force impossible to be controlled by the Western freemasonic merchants of nations. Contrarily, the rest of the Ottoman territories that he could not defend did not get westernized but were easily controlled by the Western colonials before and after the mandate.
If one wants to encapsulate in one word the difference between Kemalist Turkey and the humiliated and sullied realms of the semi-cannibalistic Arabic speaking beings, the word is self-reliance.
Of course, the aforementioned terms do not target the nature of the human being, but the eventually attested here and there inconsistence and irrelevance. Criticism addresses always the error in a human being, not the human being itself. It is very clear that it is all about Education. If the Arabic speaking populations of Baghdad and Damascus had the chance to be - during the 1920s and 1930s - the recipients of the educational system imposed on the people of Kayseri and Adana, today these Mesopotamian and Syrian populations would speak Turkish like the Kurds of Hakkari, they would preserve a slight vernacular with Arabic vocabulary that they would write in Latin characters, and they would not wear the anachronistic gallabiyah that makes of them a funny charlatan’s image at the eyes of the colonials who fabulously enjoy their work of mass denigration, and dehumanization.
Turkey’s Ultimate Role in the Orient
All this serves in today’s debate in Turkey, as the Identity issue consists in top priority. Without addressing issues in the way Kemal Ataturk would if alive today, the Turkish secular democrat elite has no chance beyond winning in the forthcoming elections and surviving. Yet, Ataturk’s vision for Turkey was not survival but reinvigoration and comeback.
Turkey will not be successful in Turkey, if Kemal Ataturk’s work is not expanded through other Ottoman territories. Turkey cannot exist and prosper without truly being concerned with, envisioning the future of, and expanding its model through territories that were never meant to become independent states after 1517, as totally integrated within the Caliphate. The abolition of the Caliphate did not mean even for a second that its territories would be split and managed by foreign forces. This was only the conjuncture of the 1920s. Without the institution of the Caliphate in place, all the lands from Algeria to Oman and from Azerbaijan to Somalia form a genuinely integral and coherent state entity.
Because Kemal Ataturk was not able to materialize this opus, we are not to assume that he did not think of it, did not have an idea about it, and did not envision it as Turkey’s Supreme Task for a Posterior Date.
To discover Kemal Ataturk’s ultimate vision for Turkey, today’s Turks have to understand the reason of Ataturk’s purpose. Kemal Ataturk did not think for a moment to have a gallup carried out in order to get some info about the ‘desires’ of the Turks. He had strong convictions and systematized ideas that he wished to implement believing that they would be beneficial for Turkey, and he was committed to adamantly implement them.
We all know only too well that the outright majority of the Turks, if asked in 1917 about concepts and practices Kemal Ataturk introduced 10 years later, would rejected them overwhelmingly. But this is of course the Fight against Ignorance, and the world cannot advance otherwise. What maters at the decision making moment is the Humanist character of the idea and the concept you introduce – somewhat peremptorily. We all know that if there had been elections in France on 20th of July 1789 the outright majority would have voted in favour of the Kingdom.
So, what would a person with the mindset and the ideas of Kemal Ataturk opt for, if he lived today?
He would first analyze the case, without forgetting the real data. In truth,
Iraq is Turkey.
Syria is Turkey.
Kuwait is Turkey.
Lebanon is Turkey.
Jordan is Turkey.
Saudi Arabia is Turkey.
Bahrain is Turkey.
Qatar is Turkey.
Emirates is Turkey.
Oman is Turkey.
Yemen is Turkey.
In brief, the Ottoman Empire is Turkey.
This is said in the sense that the entire realm of the Ottoman Empire, accepting Kemal Ataturk’s ideas and adopting his approach, becomes automatically Turkey.
We have full proof that Kemal Ataturk thought in terms of modernizing, humanizing, enlightening the world of Turkey, which means the World of the Ottoman Empire. Not in terms of national state building as the wrong assumption has it so far. Of course, he had to limit himself into what was feasible.
He had the power to prevail over the Greeks and the Italians of Antalya, he had the means to kick the French out areas in the north of the demarcation line, but if he had crossed to the south, either in Iraq or in Syria, he would have engaged against the French, the British and the manipulated by the colonials, illiterate and barbaric Arabic speaking masses. He knew he should not go beyond his limits, and he did not.
That was good for that moment, but is not good anymore.
National State, Turkey and France
As proof of the aforementioned claim of Ataturk not necessarily targeting one nation state, I can mention the fact that he knew that within the borders he considered as feasible for his state there various peoples collectively named ‘Kurds’, various Turkic peoples (Kizilbashi, Afshars, etc), Greeks, Aramaeans (Suryani), Arabic speaking people, Armenians, etc. He would certainly (and actually did) promulgate a nationalism to attempt to unify around a concept, but his effort was not a Turco-centric aphorism, it involved the tolerance of the Search for the Hittites, the Sumerians, the Golden Rule of the Anatolian Soul, of all the peoples who diachronically developed civilizations on the territory he consigned to himself.
What he applied was of lesser centripetal force than the tyrannical assimilation of Alsacians, Bretons, Occitanians, Catalans, Basks, and Corsicans in 1920s France. Speaking Breton in the streets was prohibited, and the tyrannically imposed French culture spread the maxim ‘You must not spit and speak Breton in the streets’.
As we aleady said, if Kemal Ataturk had the tools needed, he would implement the same policy he did in Erzurum and in Izmir, in Damascus and Baghdad. Turkish would be the national language and Modern Dialectal Arabic (that is a different language than the Classical Arabic – which is a dead language) would be the dialect few people would learn as few people would need. That dialect would have also been written in Latin, like Kurmandja and Zaza today.
This is the matter of bad luck of the long exploited, tyrannized and dehumanized Arabic speaking beings. They were unlucky – the correct term is irresponsible – enough to believe the colonials and to become subservient to them by hating them and envying them at the same time. Again, as we already said, this is not a national, ethnic, racial difference; it is a cultural – educational difference; Turks would be like the Arabic speaking vermin if they were equally unlucky, and Ataturk never existed. If the populace of Syria and Mesopotamia, Palestine Arabia, Gulf and Yemen were lucky/responsible and/or Ataturk had the force to kick the colonials out of there, they would think and behave like the Turks today
That is why Erdogan’s policy consists in true terms in de-Turkization and re-Arabization of his followers. That is why today’s intellectual, political and military elite of Turkey must ‘think big’. The question of Turkey’s Identity has to be pursued at the same time Turkey’s enemies have to be identified. This will be the subject of the next article.
